Mısır’ın Tavuk Fabrikaları

open access: yes, 2015
Mısır’da, 13. asırdan beri enteresan bir gelenek devam etmekte. On binlerce yumurta, gübre fırınlarında kuluçkaya yatırılmakta… Seyahatnamelerle dünyaya yayılan bu hadise Avrupa’da onlarca makaleye konu olmuş.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Differentiaalmeetkunde in de getaltheorie

open access: yes, 2014

Minimal fibrations of dendroidal sets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We prove the existence of minimal models for fibrations between dendroidal sets in the model structure for ∞–operads, as well as in the covariant model structure for algebras and in the stable one for connective spectra. We also explain how our arguments

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Edge reconstruction of the Ihara zeta function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We show that if a graph G has average degree d ≥ 4, then the Ihara zeta function of G is edge-reconstructible. We prove some general spectral properties of the edge adjacency operator T: it is symmetric for an indefinite form and has a "large" semi ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Norm Continuous Unitary Representations of Lie Algebras of Smooth Sections [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Let K→X be a smooth Lie algebra bundle over a σ-compact manifold X whose typical fiber is the compact Lie algebra k. We give a complete description of the irreducible bounded (i.e., norm continuous) unitary representations of the Frechet–Lie algebra Γ(K)

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
