Goertzel algorithm generalized to non-integer multiples of fundamental frequency
The article deals with the Goertzel algorithm, used to establish the modulus and phase of harmonic components of a signal. The advantages of the Goertzel approach over the DFT and the FFT in cases of a few harmonics of interest are highlighted, with the ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

This work proposes a method to reconstruct an acoustic speech signal solely from a stream of mel-frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCCs) as may be encountered in a distributed speech recognition (DSR) system.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Relationship of the cricothyroid space with vocal range in female singers
It is well documented that the cricothyroid (CT) space opens and closes with changes in pitch, narrowing with rising pitch and widening with falling pitch.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Vocal age disguise: The role of fundamental frequency and speech rate and its perceived effects
The relationship between vocal characteristics and perceived age is of interest in various contexts, as is the possibility to affect age perception through vocal manipulation.
