Secure parameter estimation: Fundamental tradeoffs

2017 IEEE Global Conference on Signal and Information Processing (GlobalSIP), 2017
The problem of parameter estimation in an adversarial setting, in which an active adversary might decide to compromise the data for the purpose of subverting the estimation decisions, is considered. Forming secure estimation decisions entails two intertwined inference decisions.

Fundamental Parameters of Antennas

2009
The most basic properties of an antenna are its radiation pattern, gain, impedance, and polarization. These properties are identical for linear passive antennas used either as a transmitter or receiver by virtue of the reciprocity theorem [1]. A complete definition of the terms used for antennas can be found in [2]. The radiation pattern is defined in

Fundamental Parameters of B Supergiants

2006
To understand the chemical evolution of galaxies, we need a deep understanding of the evolution of massive stars and their role in processing and delivering chemical elements. B-type supergiants represent a substantial population in this context. We present here initial results from non-LTE, line-blanketed stellar atmosphere modelling [1] of a large ...

Fundamental parameters of BE UMa revised

Astronomy Reports, 2008
We have determined a complete set of parameters for the young pre-cataclysmic variable BE UMa from a comprehensive photometric and spectroscopic analysis using model atmospheres. Our precise photometry and spectroscopy were acquired with the 6-m telescope and Zeiss-1000 telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory and the 1.5-m Russian-Turkish ...
