The Mass–Temperature Relation for B and Early A Stars Based on International Ultraviolet Explorer Spectra of Detached Eclipsing Binaries

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 2023
Ultraviolet spectra were taken of 25 detached eclipsing binaries (DEBs) with spectral types O, B, and early A with the International Ultraviolet Explorer satellite in the 1150–1900 Å region. The spectra were compared with BOSZ model atmospheres.

A Study of the Fundamental Parameters of Particle Swarm Optimizers

open access: yesCoRR, 2021
The range of applications of traditional optimization methods are limited by the features of the object variables, and of both the objective and the constraint functions. In contrast, population-based algorithms whose optimization capabilities are emergent properties, such as evolutionary algorithms and particle swarm optimization, present almost no ...

Guidelines for Pediatric Radiotherapy Simulation: A Report From the Children's Oncology Group Radiation Oncology Discipline

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric radiation therapy presents unique challenges compared to adult treatments, including those of immobilization, potential need for sedation, and the critical importance of accurate, reproducible positioning. Additionally, heightened attention to imaging doses is necessary to minimize long‐term toxicity in survivors.

Interstellar Extinction in the Gaia Photometric Systems

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2003
Three medium-band photometric systems proposed for the Gaia space mission are intercompared in determining color excesses for stars of spectral classes from O to M at V = 18 mag.

Re‐Irradiation in Pediatric Diffuse Midline Glioma: A Multi‐Institutional Retrospective Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Children with recurrent diffuse midline gliomas (DMGs) have limited therapeutic options at recurrence. Re‐irradiation (RT2) may be used at progression, but with uncertainty about the benefit. Methods We conducted a multi‐institutional retrospective study of children aged < 18 with DMG treated at three centers (Toronto, Canada ...

Multiwavelength SED as a Tool in Understanding Outbursts of Symbiotic Binaries

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2012
Symbiotic binaries consist of a few sources of radiation contributing to spectral energy distribution (SED) from hard X-rays to radio wavelengths.

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF 4 STARS IN THE HYADES

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2017
The parameters of atmospheres (Теf, 1оg g, [fе/Н], Vt) of 4 stars of Hyades are certain. Spectrums are got on a spectrograph ELODIE on a 1.93m telescope in the observatory of OHP (France). Overabundances  are got 0.1 dех for all investigated elements.

Fundamental Parameters of CP Stars [PDF]

open access: yesHighlights of Astronomy, 1998
The quest for accurate fundamental parameters (M, R, Teff log g, v sin i) of CP stars has been a lasting problem ever since the nature and origin of these stars has been discussed. The main reason for the difficulty lies in the anomalous colours of these stars, linked with their abundance anomalies which are responsible for complicated blocking and ...

The Relationship Between Physical Activity and Left Ventricular Remodeling in Childhood Cancer Survivors Treated With Anthracyclines: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Anthracycline‐related cardiac remodeling precedes heart failure in childhood cancer survivors. The objectives of this study were to determine the relationships between patient‐specific factors, moderate‐to‐vigorous physical activity (MVPA), and cardiac remodeling.

Photometry and Classification of Stars in the Direction of Clusters NGC 7129 and NGC 7142 in Cepheus. I. Magnitudes, Color Indices and Spectral Types of 2140 Stars

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2012
In a 1.5 square degree area, centered at RA = 21:44:30, DEC = +65:58, we have determined magnitudes and color indices for 2140 stars in the Vilnius seven-color system down to V = 17 mag.
