Small deviations from the R[SUP]1/4[/SUP] law, the fundamental plane, and phase densities of elliptical galaxies [PDF]
The light profiles of elliptical (E) galaxies are known to display small systematic deviations (0.1-0.2 mag.) from the R^1/4 law. In this paper we show that the senses and amplitudes of these departures can be naturally accounted for by a simple distribution function constructed on the basis of statistical mechanics of violent relaxation.

The near-infrared Fundamental Plane of elliptical galaxies [PDF]
Near-infrared (2.2 μm) observations of a sample of 48 elliptical galaxies in the Coma cluster have been carried out and used to study the near-infrared Fundamental Plane (FP) of ellipticals in this cluster. An rms scatter of 0.072 dex is found for this relation, similar to that of its optical counterpart, using the same sample of galaxies.

Formation of Major Types of Galaxies Based on the Energy Circulation Theory
The standard cosmology can answer almost nothing about how the structure of a galaxy is formed. It expects a supermassive black hole at the center and dark matter in the halo to explain the circulation of stars and its velocity.

Let us consider an alternative perspective on climate change: The sum of solar radiation and heat generated by human activity result in a net energy input of 1.96 times that of the Sun on the Earth's surface. The expanding global population is expected to exacerbate this issue. Potential solutions are proposed, including replacement and heat recycling.

Galactic Structures from Gravitational Radii
We demonstrate that the existence of a Noether symmetry in f ( R ) theories of gravity gives rise to an additional gravitational radius, besides the standard Schwarzschild one, determining the dynamics at galactic scales.

Implications for the Origin of Early-type Dwarf Galaxies: A Detailed Look at the Isolated Rotating Early-type Dwarf Galaxy LEDA 2108986 (CG 611), Ramifications for the Fundamental Plane’s Kinematic Scaling, and the Spin–Ellipticity Diagram [PDF]
Abstract Selected from a sample of nine, isolated, dwarf early-type galaxies (ETGs) with the same range of kinematic properties as dwarf ETGs in clusters, we use LEDA 2108986 (CG 611) to address the nature versus nurture debate regarding the formation of dwarf ETGs.

Transverse Dissections of the Fundamental Planes of Elliptical Galaxies and Clusters of Galaxies
Seen edge-on, the fundamental plane (FP) of elliptical galaxies is very thin and tilted, which corresponds to a very small dispersion (∼12%) of the M/L ratio at each location on the FP, and to a trend by a factor ∼3 of M/L along the FP, respectively.
