Making tau amyloid models in vitro: a crucial and underestimated challenge

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review highlights the challenges of producing in vitro amyloid assemblies of the tau protein. We review how accurately the existing protocols mimic tau deposits found in the brain of patients affected with tauopathies. We discuss the important properties that should be considered when forming amyloids and the benchmarks that should be used to ...

on associative copulas uniformly close

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1988
Associative copulas uniformly close are studied with detail. Some classical results of Ulam and Hyers as well as the representation theorem for associative functions play a fundamental role.

Representations of Fundamental Groups of Compact Kahler Manifolds in Solvable Matrix Groups [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1999
In the paper we prove a factorization theorem for representations of fundamental groups of compact K\"{a}hler manifolds ({\em K\"{a}hler groups}) into solvable matrix groups. We apply this result to prove that the universal covering of a compact K\"{a}hler manifold with a residually solvable fundamental group is holomorphically convex.

Unraveling Mycobacterium tuberculosis acid resistance and pH homeostasis mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mycobacterium tuberculosis exhibits a remarkable resilience to acid stress. In this Review, we discuss some of the molecular mechanisms and metabolic pathways used by the tubercle bacilli to adapt and resist host‐mediated acid stress. Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) is a successful pathogen that has developed a variety of strategies to survive and ...

An integral representation for Folland's fundamental solution of the sub-Laplacian on Heisenberg groups $\Bbb{H}^{n}$ [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
We prove that the Folland's fundamental solution for the sub-Laplacian on Heisenberg groups can also be derived form the resolvent kernel of this sub-Laplacian. This provides us with a new integral representation for this fundamental solution.

Unconventional mRNA processing and degradation pathways for the polycistronic yrzI (spyTA) mRNA in Bacillus subtilis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The S1025 peptide is the major antidote to the YrzI toxin, which we renamed here as SpyT (Small Peptide YrzI Toxin) and SpyA (Small Peptide YrzI Antitoxin) (1). Degradation of the toxin–antitoxin spyTA mRNA, either by a translation‐dependent cleavage by the endoribonuclease Rae1 (2) or by direct attack by 3′‐exoribonucleases (3), also contributes to ...

Parabolic bundles and representations of the fundamental group [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1999
Let X be as smooth complex projective variety with Neron-Severi group isomorphic to Z, and D an irreducible divisor with normal crossing singularities. Assume r is equal to 2 or 3. We prove that if the fundamental group of X doesn't have irreducible PU(r) representations, then the fundamental group of X-D doesn't have irreducible U(r) representations ...

The solution supramolecular structure of α2 → 8 polysialic acid suggests a structural cause for its low immunogenicity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
α2 → 8 polysialic acid elicits poor immunogenicity. Small‐angle scattering shows a supramolecular structure with parallel‐chain binding, although in different forms at μm and mm calcium. The major histocompatibility complex requires molecular weights around 2000 Da to produce antibodies, and 2000 Da polysialic oligomers will bind in these structures ...

Classification of irreducible based modules over the complex representation ring of $ S_4 $

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
The complex representation rings of finite groups are the fundamental class of fusion rings, categorified by the corresponding fusion categories of complex representations.
