The hybrid solution for the Fundamental Plane [PDF]
By exploiting the data base of early-type galaxy (ETG) members of the WINGS survey of nearby clusters, we address here the long debated question of the origin and shape of the Fundamental Plane (FP). Our data suggest that different physical mechanisms concur in shaping and 'tilting' the FP with respect to the virial plane (VP) expectation.

The invariant approach is employed to solve the Cauchy problem for the bond-pricing partial differential equation (PDE) of mathematical finance. We first briefly review the invariant criteria for a scalar second-order parabolic PDE in two independent ...

CryoEM structure of the outer membrane secretin channel pIV from the f1 filamentous bacteriophage
New virions of Ff bacteriophages are extruded from the host cell via the channel built from phage protein pIV, homologous to bacterial secretins. Here, the authors report the structure of this channel from the f1 filamentous bacteriophage and propose its

ABSTRACT Background Children with sickle cell disease (SCD) face multiple acute and chronic medical complications that may impact their quality of life as reported by patients themselves. Health‐related social needs (HRSNs), such as food and housing insecurity, are common in people with SCD, but the association between HRSNs and patient‐reported ...

The Fundamental Solution to the Wright–Fisher Equation [PDF]
This paper is devoted to the study of the fundamental solution to the Cauchy initial value problem for the Wright-Fisher equation \[ \partial_t u(x,t) = x(1-x)\partial^2_x u(x,t),\quad (x,t)\in (0,1)\times(0,\infty), \] with boundary conditions \[ \lim_{t\rightarrow 0} u(x,t) = \varphi(x),\quad x\in(0,1);\quad u(0,t) = u(1,t) = 0,\quad t\in(0,\infty). \

ABSTRACT Cup‐like nuclei are a distinctive morphological feature observed in certain cases of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). We provide evidence that they characterize DUX4/ERG ALL independently of IKZF1 deletion and reveal marked mitochondrial accumulation in this ALL subset.

Asymptotic estimates of the solution for a singularly perturbed Cauchy problem
The article focuses on the initial problem for a third-order linear integro-differential equation with a small parameter at the higher derivatives, assuming that the roots of the additional characteristic equation have opposite signs.

Fundamental solutions for the Tricomi operator, II [PDF]
We explicitly calculate fundamental solutions for the Tricomi operator relative to a point in the hyperbolic region and show that these solutions originate from the hypergeometric function F(1/6,1/6;1;z).

ABSTRACT Primary cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma (pcALCL) is a rare pediatric CD30‐positive T‐cell lymphoproliferative disorder with an excellent prognosis, but its genomic drivers are poorly defined. We report three children with skin‐limited disease demonstrating striking molecular heterogeneity, including NPM::ALK, NUP214::FRK, and a novel ...
