Community-Acquired Fungal Diseases

Clinics in Chest Medicine, 1991
The endemic mycoses--histoplasmosis, blastomycosis, and coccidioidomycosis-pose a common problem in the differential diagnosis of the atypical pneumonia syndrome. Careful exposure-and-travel history frequently serves as a strong clue to aid diagnosis. Careful interpretation of serologic data may be useful but seldom timely.

Fungal Extracellular Vesicles in Interkingdom Communication

2021
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have recently emerged as a key method of communication between cells. In this chapter, we examine the evidence for their role in inter-kingdom communication, in particular in the context of pathogenic fungi and their hosts.

Resilience of Fungal Communities to Elevated CO2

Microbial Ecology, 2016
Soil filamentous fungi play a prominent role in regulating ecosystem functioning in terrestrial ecosystems. This necessitates understanding their responses to climate change drivers in order to predict how nutrient cycling and ecosystem services will be influenced in the future.
