Evaluation of systemic fungicides for use in the glasshouse industry

Pesticide Science, 1971
AbstractThe primary evaluation of ten fungicides for the control of cucumber powdery mildew (Sphaerotheca fuliginea), tomato leaf mould (Cladosporium fulvum) and tomato grey mould (Botrytis cinerea) indicated that nine of them were systemically active against one or more of the pathogens when applied as soil drenches.

Towards a novel bioreactor technology for treating fungicide-rich wastewaters from the fruit packaging industry

GMPC Thesis and Opinions Platform, 2021
The fruit processing industry is an important economic sector worldwide, whereas a wide range of plant pathogens affects the shelf life of fruits, resulting in great economic losses. Post-harvest fungicides are often applied in the fruit processing industry to address post-harvest infections.

Microbial Transformations and Biological Effects of Fungicide-Derived Benzothiazoles Determined in Industrial Wastewater

Environmental Science & Technology, 1995
Benzothiazole (BT), 2-mercaptobenzothiazole (MBT), and 2-(methylthio)benzothiazole (MTBT) were determined as degradation products of the fungicide 2-(thiocyanomethylthio)benzothiazole (TCMTB) in tannery wastewater and are shown to be incompletely removed (75%) in an anaerobic and aerobic wastewater treatment pilot plant.

Isolation, characterization and industrial application of a Cladosporium herbarum fungal strain able to degrade the fungicide imazalil

Environmental Pollution, 2022
Imazalil (IMZ) is an imidazole fungicide commonly used by fruit-packaging plants (FPPs) to control fungal infections during storage. Its application leads to the production of pesticide-contaminated wastewaters, which, according to the European Commission, need to be treated on site.

Industry's response to fungicide resistance

Crop Protection, 1984
Abstract Industry's response to reports of fungicide resistance has varied from denial to a leadership role in defining the problem and implementing solutions. Individual isolated company activities now find co-operative support in an emerging inter-industry organization called the Fungicide Resistance Action Committee.
