The reliability of furcation measurements
Journal of Clinical Periodontology, 1994Abstract. The furcation involvement of 100 molars in 25 patients suffering from moderate to advanced periodontitis was investigated. Presurgically, the horizontal probing attachment level (PAL‐H) within the furcations was assessed 2 × within 14 days.

When radiographs of maxillary molars are observed, a small, triangular radiographic shadow is sometimes noted over either the mesial or distal roots in the proximal furcation area. This study was undertaken to determine the reliability of using this radiographic image as an aid in diagnosing proximal furcation involvement. Sixty‐six Degree 1, 53 Degree

Reproducibility and Validity of Furcation Measurements as Related to Class of Furcation Invasion
Journal of Periodontology, 1995The furcation involvement of 200 molars in 50 patients suffering from advanced periodontitis was investigated. Presurgically, the horizontal probing attachment levels (CAL‐H) within the furcations of 4 molars per patient was assessed twice within 14 days. Within a subset of 11 patients duplicate measurements of clinical probing depths (PD) and vertical

Prenatal Diagnosis of a Furcate Placenta
Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2020BACKGROUND: A furcate placental cord insertion is rare and potentially dangerous. Prenatal diagnosis of this finding has been reported on only two prior occasions. CASE: We present the case of a 33-year-old patient who, at 35 weeks of gestation, was suspected on ultrasonography to ...

The topography of the furcation entrance in Chinese molars
Journal of Clinical Periodontology, 1994Abstract The purpose of the present study was to document the furcation entrance dimensions (FEDs) of the maxillary and mandibular 1st and 2nd molars and relate them to the choice of periodontal therapy. Study samples consisted of 89 maxillary molars (49 1st and 40 2nd molars) and 93 mandibular molars (50 1st and 43 2nd molars).

Abstract The furcation problem was studied in a dental autopsy material, i.e. extracted teeth were examined under the stereomicroscope. The folowing conclusions were reached: extraction. Plaque and Gingival Indices, degree of mobility, and other pertinent clinical data were recorded. A landmark was made on the tooth surface at the gingival margin so as
