Modeling of the process of heating of chip-powder dispersions of ferrous metals in the pass-through muffle furnace of hot briquetting. Message 3

open access: yesЛитьë и металлургия, 2023
It has been established that the optimal productivity of a 3,5 m high furnace in terms of the highest energy efficiency of its operation is 500 kg of chips per hour.

Recognition algorithm of hot-rolled strip steel water beam mark based on a semi-supervised learning model of an improved denoising autoencoder

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2022
The water beam mark is a common problem in slab heating, which causes quality defects on strip steel. In hot strip rolling, the heating quality of the slab considerably influences the rolling stability and quality of the finished strip.

Modeling of the process of heating of chip‑powder dispersions of ferrous metals in the pass‑through muffle furnace of hot briquetting. Message 2

open access: yesЛитьë и металлургия, 2022
The simulation of the chip heating process in the zones of gas-flame and induction heating of a continuous muffle furnace has been carried out. The mechanisms of heat transfer (conductive, convective, radiative) that have a conjugated character are ...

Combined Process‐ and Phase‐Field‐Simulation to Predict the Microstructure of Single‐Crystal Ni‐Based Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Pyramidal Structures on Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia after High Temperature Exposure at 1500°C: New Features on an Old Material

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...
