Grip and Grasp: Lizard Claw Inspired Robotic Manipulators

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Our study identifies the most effective lizard claw shape for use as an end effector in a bioinspired robotic manipulator. By examining key geometric features and combining them into comparative indices, the Crotaphytus collaris claw is found to be the best fit.

Preparation of polypropylene/short glass fiber composite as Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) filament

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
Mechanical, morphological, rheological, and crystallinity properties of pure polypropylene (PP)/glass fiber (GF) and PP/GF composites containing maleic anhydride polyolefin (POE-g-MA) at three different weight percentages (10, 20 and 30 wt%) were ...

3D‐Printing Aided Rapid Prototyping of Pretensioned Tensegrity Structures for Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Printing, injection molding, and assembly (PMA) is a method for rapid prototyping mesoscale, topologically complex, and tensioned tensegrity structures. In combination with PMA method, two mold design strategies: modular mold and compact channel layout, enable efficiency and scalability for tensegrity fabrication.

Polymer Composite Manufacturing by FDM 3D Printing Technology

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
3D printing technology was developed nearly 30 years ago. One of its characteristics is that instead of removing materials, 3D printing creates 3D elements directly from CAD models, adding one layer of material on another.

Programmable Multifunctional Bistable Structures for Energy Transfer and Dissipation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Utilizing the energy conversion characteristics of asymmetric bistable beams, this study develops a programmable multifunctional system composed of multiple bistable beams for energy transfer and dissipation. The high energy density enables the system to demonstrate potential in transient scenarios such as target delivery and shock absorption ...
