Fused Filament Fabrication of Small Ceramic Components [PDF]
With respect to rapid prototyping of ceramic components, there are known only a few processes (stereo lithography, binder jetting). In this work, a new process chain is described in detail, showing that ceramics can be printed in a very cost-efficient way.

Three-Point Bending Response of Nylon 12 Obtained by Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) Versus Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) [PDF]
This study analyses the three-point bending behavior of Nylon 12 (PA12) specimens produced using two additive manufacturing technologies (i.e., fused filament fabrication and selective laser sintering).

Device for measuring part adhesion in FFF process
The adhesion of parts to the build surface plays a central role in the Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) process. Without sufficient adhesion, the part will deform (so called warping) due to thermal shrinkage, so that no defined geometries can be created.

Non‐oxide CMC fabricated by Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) [PDF]
Abstract The present study introduces an approach to additively manufacture non‐oxidic Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) by the Material Extrusion (MEX)‐based Fused Filament Fabrication. Therefore, highly SiC particle filled thermoplastic filaments were developed containing short fibers and/or long fibers to maintain shape during the ...

T4F3: temperature for fused filament fabrication
AbstractTemperature fields and their variations in printed parts are the basis for understanding the physical process of fused filament fabrication (FFF). However, reliable temperature data are still rather limited to date. This article presents a three-dimensional transient-state model to simulate the temporal and spatial temperature variations in FFF

Fully 3D printed rolled capacitor based on conductive ABS composite electrodes
This paper presents a novel approach in the fabrication of rolled capacitors using a printable conductive ABS composite filament. On the contrary to conventional manufacturing of rolled capacitors, here a fused filament fabrication (FFF) technology ...

A simple, low-cost conductive composite material for 3D printing of electronic sensors [PDF]
3D printing technology can produce complex objects directly from computer aided digital designs. The technology has traditionally been used by large companies to produce fit and form concept prototypes (‘rapid prototyping’) before production.

Fused Filament Fabrication of Actuating Objects
AbstractThermoresponsive objects can be manufactured from shape memory polymers (SMPs) via fused filament fabrication (FFF). Here a new technological approach to obtain thermally actuating objects using an in‐house synthesized, phase segregated poly(ester urethane) (PEU) is introduced.

Towards Self-Reinforced PLA Composites for Fused Filament Fabrication
Aligned with the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs), we present the complete methodology of preparing bio-based polymer filaments to be used in additive manufacturing, specifically by means of so-called Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) in 3D ...
