OVERVIEW OF NEUTRON MEASUREMENTS IN JET FUSION DEVICE

open access: yesRadiation Protection Dosimetry, 2017
The design and operation of ITER experimental fusion reactor requires the development of neutron measurement techniques and numerical tools to derive the fusion power and the radiation field in the device and in the surrounding areas. Nuclear analyses provide essential input to the conceptual design, optimisation, engineering and safety case in ITER ...

Effects of fusion neutrons on thermocouples [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Materials, 1981
Abstract Thermocouples are being utilized in present-generation fusion experiments, both materials and confinement, and will see increased application as these experiments become more complex. Little is known about the response of thermocouples to radiation exposure of any kind. Nothing is known about 14-MeV neutron effects. We have conducted a room-

Carboranyl‐Curcuminoids for the Neutron Capture‐Based Treatment of Amyloid Aggregates in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The 10B‐enriched monocarbonyl analog of curcumin (BMAC) 10B‐9 enables site‐specific Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) on amyloid‐β (Aβ) fibrils. Neutron irradiation induces histidine oxidation and fibril destabilization, as revealed by 1H‐NMR and FESEM analyses.

New High‐Tc Charge‐Transfer Multiferroicity in the Quasi‐2D Antiferromagnet CrSbS3

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Low‐dimensional magnets, particularly 2D systems, offer a rich platform for realizing unconventional multiferroic mechanisms, especially when multiple polarization channels coexist. In the quasi‐2D antiferromagnet CrSbS3, which crystallizes in the centrosymmetric orthorhombic space group Pnma and orders magnetically at TN ≈ 90 K, two ...

Engineering of Crystal and Domain Structures in Epitaxial Y:HfO2 Thin Films by YSZ Substrate Miscut

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We investigate how YSZ substrate miscut influences crystal structure and domain formation in epitaxial Y‐doped HfO2 thin films. Using magnetron sputtering, high‐resolution X‐ray diffraction, atomic‐resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy, and first‐principles calculations, we systematically examine the characteristics of thickness‐ and ...
