Carbon dioxide removal and the futures market

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2017
Futures contracts are exchange-traded financial instruments that enable parties to fix a price in advance, for later performance on a contract. Forward contracts also entail future settlement, but they are traded directly between two parties. Futures and

HOW LARGE IS THE COMPETITIVE EDGE THAT U.S.-BASED FUTURES PROVIDE TO U.S. FARMERS? [PDF]

open access: yes
The present study advocates a simulation approach to analyze quantitatively the impact of having locally-based markets for price derivatives. A major result is that market outcomes do not appear to be sensitive to most of the underlying parameters of the

Tests on price linkage between the U.S. and Japanese gold and silver futures markets [PDF]

open access: yes
We tested the price linkage, the law of one price (LOP) condition, and the causality of the price linkage between the U.S. and Japanese gold and silver futures markets with consideration of structural breaks in the price series. The LOP condition did not

Theory‐Guided Design of Non‐Precious Single‐Atom Catalyst for Electrocatalytic Chlorine Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
To overcome the reliance on noble metals for the chlorine evolution reaction (CER), we designed a non‐precious single‐atom catalyst (SAC), NiN3O–O. It achieves a low overpotential of 75 mV, 95.8% Cl2 selectivity, and outperforms commercial dimensionally stable anodes (DSAs).

Cournot Competition, Financial Option markets and Efficiency [PDF]

open access: yes
Allaz and Vila (1993) show that the existence of futures markets increases the efficiency of markets in a Cournot setting. This paper looks at the efficiency effect of financial options in a similar framework.

Universal Electronic‐Structure Relationship Governing Intrinsic Magnetic Properties in Permanent Magnets

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Permanent magnets derive their extraordinary strength from deep, universal electronic‐structure principles that control magnetization, anisotropy, and intrinsic performance. This work uncovers those governing rules, examines modern modeling and AI‐driven discovery methods, identifies critical bottlenecks, and reveals electronic fingerprints shared ...

Price discovery in Chinese PVC futures and spot markets: Impacts of COVID-19 and benchmark analysis

open access: yesHeliyon
Despite being a minor futures category, Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) futures have emerging as a vital element in energy and chemical futures domain. Employing three benchmark models component share (CS), information share (IS), and information leadership ...
