Optimizing Selective RF Pulses for Enhanced Signal Stability in Turbo Spin Echo Using a Differentiable Extended Phase Graph Model

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 1, Page 214-226, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To improve slice profile consistency across echo trains in turbo spin echo (TSE) imaging, thereby reducing image blurring and increasing the accuracy of multi echo spin echo T2$$ {T}_2 $$ mapping. Methods Excitation and refocusing RF pulses were optimized for TSE using a differentiable extended phase graph model that incorporates the ...

The quest for rings on bipolar scales [PDF]

open access: yes
We consider the interval $]{-1},1[$ and intend to endow it with an algebraic structure like a ring. The motivation lies in decision making, where scales that are symmetric w.r.t.~$0$ are needed in order to represent a kind of symmetry in the behaviour of

What Are Asset Price Bubbles? A Survey on Definitions of Financial Bubbles

open access: yesJournal of Economic Surveys, Volume 40, Issue 3, Page 1572-1592, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Financial bubbles and crashes have repeatedly caused economic turmoil notably but not just during the 2008 financial crisis. However, both in the popular press as well as scientific publications, the meaning of bubble is sometimes unspecified.

Distinct Biotypes of Visual Perception in Major Depressive Disorder

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 31, 4 June 2026.
In a discover dataset (272 acute MDD patients), this work identifies a novel depression biotype characterized by impaired visual motion perception, using machine learning clustering. An independent dataset confirms the robustness of this biotype through cross‐validation and demonstrates its generalizability.

Identification of Types of Pollution That Mostly Affect the Environment by Using Picture Fuzzy Soft Aggregation Operators

open access: yesIEEE Access
The release of harmful materials into the environment is called pollution and the harmful materials are called pollutants. There are four basic categories of pollution: land, water, noise, and air pollution.

Lattice rings: an interpretation of L-fuzzy rings as habitual algebraic structures

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, we introduce some algebraic structure associated with rings and lattices. It appeared as the result of our new approach to the fuzzy rings and L-fuzzy rings where L is a lattice.

Advanced control of non‐isothermal axial dispersion tubular reactors with recycle‐induced state delay

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 104, Issue 6, Page 3018-3037, June 2026.
Abstract We develop a delay‐aware estimation and control framework for a non‐isothermal axial dispersion tubular reactor modelled as a coupled parabolic‐hyperbolic PDE system with recycle‐induced state delay. The infinite‐dimensional dynamics are preserved without spatial discretization by representing the delay as a transport PDE and adopting a late ...

Generalization of Rough Bi-ideals in Quantales Based on Cores of Successor Classes Under Fuzzy Relations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems
In quantales, algebraic structures that use fuzzy relations and cores of successor class, the notion of upper and lower approximation bi-ideals is introduced.

Group-like algebraic structures of fuzzy topographic topological mapping for solving neuromagnetic inverse problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Fuzzy Topographic Topological Mapping (FTTM) is a novel mathematical model for solving neuromagnetic inverse problem. It is given as a set of mathematical operations, namely topological transformations with four components and connected by three ...

RAAS: Runtime Adaptive Approximation System

open access: yesConcurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, Volume 38, Issue 12, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Software‐level approximation techniques, such as loop perforation and functional replacement, can improve energy and performance in error‐tolerant applications, but typically require extensive programmer intervention even when compiler support is available.
