Extension of the Fuzzy Database with Fuzzy Arithmetic
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1983Abstract The fuzzy relational database model originated by the authors permits fuzzy domain values from a discrete, finite universe. The model is extended here by demonstrating that fuzzy numbers may be employed as domain values without loss of consistency with respect to representation or the relational algebra.

Fuzzy logic and arithmetical hierarchy
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1995For fuzzy logic in the sense of \textit{J. Pavelka} [Z. Math. Fuzzy arithmetic in qualitative reasoning
2006The paper provides a preliminary exploration of the application of fuzzy arithmetic and fuzzy approximate reasoning techniques to qualitative reasoning problems considered in Artificial Intelligence. More specifically, this investigation is done along three lines: constraint propagation with ill-known values, handling of orders of magnitude in terms of

Fuzzy numbers may be applied, for example, in the modeling of a system of a known input/output mapping given in terms of a conventional mathematical model y = f (X), where the input signals cannot be measured precisely but only approximately, e.g.: $$\begin{array}{*{20}{c}} {{x_1} = approx.9,}\\ {{x_1} = approx.10,}\\ {y = {x_1} + {x_2}.} \end ...

Fuzzy Arithmetic for Uncertainty Analysis
2013When the theory of fuzzy sets arose as a new mathematical concept in the field of information processing some 50 years ago, it rapidly advanced to becoming a well-established scientific discipline and a challenging object of both theoretical research and practical application. Since its introduction by Lotfi A.
