Global Optimization strategies for two-mode clustering [PDF]

open access: yes
Two-mode clustering is a relatively new form of clustering that clusters both rows and columns of a data matrix. To do so, a criterion similar to k-means is optimized.

Two‐Photon 3D Printing of Functional Microstructures Inside Living Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates 3D printing inside living cells by using two‐photon photo‐lithography. A bio‐compatible photoresist is injected into cells and selectively polymerized with a femtosecond laser, creating custom‐shaped intracellular structures with submicron resolution.

Sleeping posture recognition using fuzzy c-means algorithm

open access: yesBioMedical Engineering OnLine, 2018
Background Pressure sensors have been used for sleeping posture detection, which meet privacy requirements. Most of the existing techniques for sleeping posture recognition used force-sensitive resistor (FSR) sensors.

Fuzzy image segmentation using location and intensity information [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The segmentation results of any clustering algorithm are very sensitive to the features used in the similarity measure and the object types, which reduce the generalization capability of the algorithm.

Self‐Powered Flexible Triboelectric‐Gated Ion‐Gel Transistor for Neuromorphic Tactile Sensing and Human Activity Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A fully flexible ion‐gel‐gated graphene‐channel transistor driven by a triboelectric nanogenerator enables self‐powered tactile sensing and synaptic learning. Mimicking spike‐rate‐dependent plasticity, the device exhibits frequency‐selective potentiation and depression, supporting rate‐coded neuromorphic computation even under flex.

Assembling a True “Olympic Gel” From over 16 000 Combinatorial DNA Rings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Olympic gels are an elusive class of soft matter, consisting of molecular networks held together purely by mechanically interlocked rings. Their topological structure promises unique properties and functions, but their synthesis has proven notoriously difficult.

Dynamic Fuzzy c-Means (dFCM) Clustering and its Application to Calorimetric Data Reconstruction in High Energy Physics

open access: yes, 2012
In high energy physics experiments, calorimetric data reconstruction requires a suitable clustering technique in order to obtain accurate information about the shower characteristics such as position of the shower and energy deposition.

High‐Gain Ag2Te/MoS2 Hybrid Photodetectors for Short‐Wave Infrared Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A precision‐engineered short‐wave infrared image sensor based on a 0D/2D Ag2Te/MoS2 hybrid structure is demonstrated in this work. The device exploits photodoping at the nanoscale interface to achieve broadband detection from visible to infrared wavelengths with high responsivity and fast response.

AN APPROACH TO REMOVE THE EFFECT OF RANDOM INITIALIZATION FROM FUZZY C-MEANS CLUSTERING TECHNIQUE [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Process Management and New Technologies, 2014
Out of the different available fuzzy clustering techniques Bezdek’s Fuzzy C-Means clustering technique is among the most popular ones. Due to the random initialization of the membership values the performance of Fuzzy C-Means clustering technique ...
