Fuzzy reasoning in confidence evaluation of speech recognition [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Confidence measures represent a systematic way to express reliability of speech recognition results. A common approach to confidence measuring is to take profit of the information that several recognition-related features offer and to combine them ...

Distinct Biotypes of Visual Perception in Major Depressive Disorder

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In a discover dataset (272 acute MDD patients), this work identifies a novel depression biotype characterized by impaired visual motion perception, using machine learning clustering. An independent dataset confirms the robustness of this biotype through cross‐validation and demonstrates its generalizability.

Bottom type identification using combined neuro-fuzzy classifier operating on multi-frequency data

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2014
The paper introduces a novel approach to acoustic methods of characterising the bottom type by using a neuro-fuzzy classifier which processes the bottom backscatter data collected with an echosounder on three different operating frequencies.

Advancing Energy Materials by In Situ Atomic Scale Methods

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
Progress in in situ atomic scale methods leads to an improved understanding of new and advanced energy materials, where a local understanding of complex, inhomogeneous systems or interfaces down to the atomic scale and quantum level is required. Topics from photovoltaics, dissipation losses, phase transitions, and chemical energy conversion are ...

The Role of Actual and Purported Origin in e‐Commerce Wine Pricing: Evidence From Italian and French Names on Labels

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The origin of a product, if associated with good quality, can contribute to building a positive collective reputation, leading to a potential price premium. However, it is conceivable that a producer markets a product by evoking symbols, images, words, and values typical of places other than where it was designed or produced, creating a ...

Self-guessing fuzzy classifiers

open access: yesInformatica, 1993
A possible interpretation, in terms of fuzzy classification models (fuzzy classifiers), of one of the general principles of choosing a scientific theory – a consistency principle – is considered. Supervised self-guessing fuzzy classifiers are determined.

Domain‐Aware Implicit Network for Arbitrary‐Scale Remote Sensing Image Super‐Resolution

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Although existing arbitrary‐scale image super‐resolution methods are flexible to reconstruct images with arbitrary scales, the characteristic of training distribution is neglected that there exists domain shift between samples of various scales. In this work, a Domain‐Aware Implicit Network (DAIN) is proposed to handle it from the perspective of domain
