Non-dual fuzzy connections

Archive for Mathematical Logic, 2004
The present paper introduces and studies fuzzy conjugated pairs, with their underlying closure operators and hierarchical structure. Isotone versions of fuzzy Galois connections and closure operators are also studied, arguing that they are not dual to the antitone ones, but providing quite similar results about them.

Relational fuzzy Galois connections

2017 Joint 17th World Congress of International Fuzzy Systems Association and 9th International Conference on Soft Computing and Intelligent Systems (IFSA-SCIS), 2017
We propose a suitable generalization of the notion of Galois connection whose components are fuzzy relations. We prove that the construction embeds Yao's notion of fuzzy Galois connection as a particular case. Although the natural framework for the proposed notion is that of fuzzy preposets, we also prove that it behaves properly with respect to the ...

Connectives and fuzziness for classical effects

Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1999
This article investigates various constructs on a set of classical effects (measurable fuzzy sets or fuzzy events). The properties of a connective \(\sqcup\) and its dual connective are studied, and the importance of these operations for fuzzy probability is pointed out.

Fuzzy Convexity and Connectivity

2001
In image analysis and pattern recognition fuzzy sets play the role of a good model for segmentation and classifications tasks when the regions and the classes cannot be strictly defined. Shape analysis is of great importance for different applications of image processing, for instance 0in the recognition of pathological objects on X-ray or microscopic ...

Cuts of intuitionistic fuzzy sets respecting fuzzy connectives

Information Sciences, 2013
Intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IF-sets) create a suitable tool to describe cases where it is useful to account not only the grade of membership to a certain collection, but also the grade of its non-membership. We consider the @a-cuts of an IF-set A as crisp sets consisting of those elements x for which the truth value (in fuzzy logic) of the statement ''x

Fuzzy Negation and Other Weak Fuzzy Connectives

2012
This paper deals with some dependencies between fuzzy negations and other fuzzy connectives. The generalized laws of contradiction and excluded middle are considered. Methods for generating fuzzy negation from fuzzy conjunction, disjunction or fuzzy implication together with another fuzzy negation are also presented.

Fuzzy connectivity and mathematical morphology

Pattern Recognition Letters, 1993
Summary: We prove an equivalence between the degree of connectedness defined for fuzzy sets and the connection cost defined in the grey-level mathematical morphology framework, starting from the definitions and properties of both concepts.
