On the Use of Fuzzy Constraints in Semisupervised Clustering
IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, 2016This paper introduces Fuzzy HSS , a semisupervised hierarchical clustering approach that uses fuzzy instance-level constraints. These constraints are external information on the shape of fuzzy must-link and fuzzy cannot-link restrictions. They allow uncertainty when indicating whether two instances of a dataset belong to the same group.

Hierarchical Fuzzy Logic Scheme with Constraints on the Fuzzy Rule
Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, 2001Abstract This paper presents the hierarchical fuzzy system where the outputs of the previous layer are not used in the IF-parts, but used only in the THEN-parts of the fuzzy rules in the next layer. A certain class of functions is shown to be approximated to any degree of accuracy by the proposed hierarchical fuzzy system.

Fuzzy clustering with structural constraints
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1999Abstract In this paper we propose a generalization of the standard clustering problem, which we call Structural Constrained Clustering (SCC) problem. In SCC problem, the cluster interconnections are given by a binary relation R. If this relation is empty then SCC problem reduces to the standard classification problem. The cluster structure imposed by

Fuzzy semantics and fuzzy constraint networks
[1992 Proceedings] IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems, 2003After reviewing the notion of crisp constraint networks and their relationship to semantics in classical logic, the authors define fuzzy constraint networks and their relationship to fuzzy logic. Then they introduce Khayyam, a fuzzy constrained-based programming language which implements much of Zadeh's PRUF formalism.

Examination Timetabling with Fuzzy Constraints
2005The aim of this paper is to consider flexible constraint satisfaction in timetabling problems. The research is carried out in the context of university examination timetabling. Examination timetabling is subject to two types of constraints: hard constraints that must not be violated, and soft constraints that often have to be violated to some extent ...
