Hierarchical Fuzzy Controllers
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1995Abstract The paper presents Fuzzy Logic Controllers (FLC) with hierarchically structured rule base as nonlinear blocks used in a control system for direct control or supervision of standard controllers. Unified approach based on Fuzzy Logic Neural Networks (FLNN) is used to reveal the essential functions of a FLC.

Abstract A fuzzy program is defined as an ordered sequence of fuzzy instructions. In the execution of a fuzzy program, fuzzy instructions are translated into machine instructions by the use of MAX-METHOD and backtracking. To show how a fuzzy program is executed, a simulation system is exploited which controls a simple inchworm robot.

Fuzzy control as a fuzzy deduction system
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 2001The author gives a new and interesting translation strategy for linguistic control rules of the form: \textit{if} \(x\) is \(A\) \textit{then} \(y\) is \(B\). He reads them as: \( A(x) \land B(y) \to\text{ good} (x,y) \) with a new predicate \textit{good} expressing globally the control quality.

In this article, we propose a multicriteria fuzzy control (MFC) based on fuzzy measures and fuzzy integrals. The basic idea underlying this approach is based on analyzing the source of attributes of the system output response and applying the fuzzy measure and integral theory to the existing fuzzy control.

A collection b of fuzzy controllers is a universal fuzzy controller if and only if given any controllable process P it can also be controlled by some fuzzy controller in b. This paper identifies a new type of universal fuzzy controller.

Defuzzification in Fuzzy Controllers
Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, 1993An important subject in fuzzy control theory is tuning of a fuzzy controller. If one wants to tune a fuzzy controller, one can focus on the choice of rules, membership functions, number of input and output fuzzy sets and their degree of overlapping, implication, and connection operations, and defuzzification method.

Various kinds of fuzzy logic controllers (FLC) have been well investigated and widely used nowadays in industry, although there are rather few literatures being useful investigated the tuning of fuzzy controllers [1-4], the tuning strategy of fuzzy controllers has not been well established.

About simple fuzzy control and fuzzy control based on fuzzy relational equations
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1999Abstract The paper discusses fuzzy controllers based on fuzzy relational equations in the case when fuzzy controllers' inputs are exact. Godelian implication and minimum function as t-norm are considered. Fuzzy relational equation with sup-t composition results in plausible control and adjoint equation results in the simple fuzzy control (min-max ...

The fuzzy controllers could be broadly used in control processes thanks to their good performance, one disadvantage is the problem of fuzzy controllers tuning, this implies the handling of a great quantity of variables like: the ranges of the membership functions, the shape of this functions, the percentage of overlap among the functions, the number of
