A fuzzy-PI control strategy

Control Engineering Practice, 1994
Abstract Fuzzy logic is used to attain the on-line adaptation of the parameter values for a proportional and integral control strategy. The design procedure of the fuzzy logic algorithm is firstly shown. Subsequently it is applied to a simulated system representative of a realistic controlled plant. A set of validation tests conclude the paper.

Fuzzy traffic control: adaptive strategies

[Proceedings 1993] Second IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems, 2002
The authors present a fuzzy traffic controller (FTC) with adaptive strategies, using two different defuzzification and decision-making criteria, for urban traffic control systems. The basic adaptive strategies employed here adjust the membership functions according to the traffic conditions to optimize the controller's performance.

From fuzzy linguistic specifications to fuzzy controllers using evolution strategies

Proceedings of 1995 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems. The International Joint Conference of the Fourth IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and The Second International Fuzzy Engineering Symposium, 2002
Fuzzy controllers commence to take an important place as a modern technique in the present-day control world but the lack of a general methodology for the parameter tuning of fuzzy controllers is a major drawback to a more widespread use of this control technique.

Adaptive Fuzzy PID Control Strategy for Spacecraft Attitude Control

International Journal of Fuzzy Systems, 2019
In this paper, a novel adaptive fuzzy proportional–integral–derivative (AFPID) controller is designed for geostationary satellite attitude control. In order to design the AFPID controller, first a fuzzy PID (FPID) controller is proposed in which two fuzzy inference engines are used: single-input fuzzy inference engine (SIFIE) and preferential fuzzy ...

Robotic Impedance Control with Fuzzy Sliding Model Control Strategy

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
During robotic assembly and interactive applications, the robot end-effector must follow a motion trajectory and exert an appropriate force profile against the contacted environment to provide a specified dynamic working compliance. It is a difficult control problem.

Fuzzy-control-based clustering strategy in MANET

Fifth World Congress on Intelligent Control and Automation (IEEE Cat. No.04EX788), 2004
Describing briefly the characteristics of a mobile ad-hoc network, comparing with related works and considering the highly dynamic topology and absence of any fixed infrastructure in a mobile ad-hoc network, a new time degree definition was given. By analyzing the link relationship of the neighboring nodes, a network model based on the link life of two

Evaluating flexible fuzzy controllers via evolution strategies

Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1999
This paper applies evolution strategies to evaluate a class of flexible fuzzy controllers. Various components in fuzzy controllers, including generalized T-norms, soft T-norm, BADD defuzzification and scaling factors are investigated. Simulations are carried out on linear and nonlinear systems and some interesting conclusions are obtained.

Fuzzy logic strategy on boiler control problem

Proceedings of the 1997 American Control Conference (Cat. No.97CH36041), 1997
In fuzzification problems the shape of the membership function plays an important role. For the application of a fuzzy controller in industry, the TPE system is widely used. The important characteristics of it is that it is straightforward, efficient and independent of the number of rules.

Approximating Fuzzy Control Strategies via CRI

2003
We start from the observation that ZADEH's compositional rule of inference (CRI) is a strategy to determine approximately a roughly given control function. From this point of view the problem to solve a system of fuzzy relation equations also becomes the problem to determine approximately such a control strategy.

Fuzzy avoidance control strategy for redundant manipulators

Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, 1999
This paper presents a systematic design method to solve the problem of obstacle avoidance for a redundant manipulator, using a fuzzy-logic system. The pseudo-distance (Pd) function is introduced to measure the distances between the robot and various obstacles; this function can be effectively solved by linear programming. The traditional implementation
