Controlled Fuzzy Parallel Rewriting [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We study a Lindenmayer-like parallel rewriting system to model the growth of filaments (arrays of cells) in which developmental errors may occur. In essence this model is the fuzzy analogue of the derivation-controlled iteration grammar.

Fuzzy Control Model and Simulation for Nonlinear Supply Chain System with Lead Times

open access: yesComplexity, 2017
A new fuzzy robust control strategy for the nonlinear supply chain system in the presence of lead times is proposed. Based on Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy control system, the fuzzy control model of the nonlinear supply chain system with lead times is constructed.

Addressing persistent challenges in digital image analysis of cancer tissue: resources developed from a hackathon

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Large multidimensional digital images of cancer tissue are becoming prolific, but many challenges exist to automatically extract relevant information from them using computational tools. We describe publicly available resources that have been developed jointly by expert and non‐expert computational biologists working together during a virtual hackathon

Adaptive Fuzzy Sliding Mode Control for a Micro Gyroscope with Backstepping Controller

open access: yesMicromachines, 2020
This paper developed an adaptive backstepping fuzzy sliding control (ABFSC) approach for a micro gyroscope. Based on backstepping design, an adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control was proposed to adjust the fuzzy parameters with self-learning ability and ...

Fuzzy service control of queueing systems

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 1999
We consider queueing systems in which the service rate is the controlled variable. The cost depends on the queue length and selected rate. The objective is to choose the service rate dynamically, based on the state of the system so as to minimize the average cost over an infinite horizon.

Response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in early breast cancers is associated with epithelial–mesenchymal transition and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are associated with early breast cancer response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). This study evaluated EMT and TIL shifts, with immunofluorescence and RNA sequencing, at diagnosis and in residual tumors as potential biomarkers associated with treatment response.

A spintronic memristor crossbar array for fuzzy control with application in the water valves control system

open access: yesMeasurement + Control, 2019
Fuzzy control, an intelligent control method, is generally employed to deal with complex nonlinear controlled objects that cannot be expressed by accurate mathematical model.

A New Fuzzy-Evidential Controller for Stabilization of the Planar Inverted Pendulum System. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
In order to realize the stability control of the planar inverted pendulum system, which is a typical multi-variable and strong coupling system, a new fuzzy-evidential controller based on fuzzy inference and evidential reasoning is proposed.

Observability and Decentralized Control of Fuzzy Discrete Event Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Fuzzy discrete event systems as a generalization of (crisp) discrete event systems have been introduced in order that it is possible to effectively represent uncertainty, imprecision, and vagueness arising from the dynamic of systems.

Effects of cardiac motion on dose distribution during stereotactic arrhythmia radioablation treatment: A simulation and phantom study

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Cardiac motion may degrade dose distribution during stereotactic arrhythmia radioablation using the CyberKnife system, a robotic radiosurgery system. This study evaluated the dose distribution changes using a self‐made cardiac dynamic platform that mimics cardiac motion. Methods The cardiac dynamic platform was operated with amplitudes
