Fuzzy sets

Artificial Intelligence for Smarter Power Systems: Fuzzy logic and neural networks, 2021
As the contributions to this section of HSM are not very numerous I have found it necessary to generate some news of my own. Besides informing you about coming events, I will also put forward some concerns regarding present attitudes towards the theory ...

Fuzzy detectabilities for fuzzy discrete event systems

2017 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems (FUZZ-IEEE), 2017
Fuzzy discrete event systems are useful models for solving complex practical problems in biomedical and other fields. The theory of detectabilities in conventional crisp discrete event systems investigates state determination or estimation based on event observation.

Fuzzy logic system for fuzzy event tree computing

Proceedings First International IEEE Symposium Intelligent Systems, 2003
The paper presents the authors' contribution in developing a fuzzy logic system for event-tree analysis. The fuzzy event-tree method can be used for the protection and automation of power systems independent safety analysis. The main contribution of the proposed analysis is the evaluation or the general fuzzy conclusion named "general safety ...

Discrete event fuzzy airport control

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 1992
A discrete event simulation that uses a modified expert system as a controller is described. Fuzzy logic concepts from analog controllers are applied in the expert system controller to mimic human control of an airport, modeled with a combined discrete and continuous state space.

Type-2 Fuzzy Event

2012 9th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery, 2012
Since Fuzzy Event was proposed by Zadeh, the use of higher order fuzzy events to present real-valued problems is always an inhibitor of fuzzy probability in practice. This paper proposes a new concept, Type-2 Fuzzy Event, and the type-2 fuzzy probability for it.

Theory of Generalized Fuzzy Discrete-Event Systems

IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, 2012
The theory of fuzzy discrete event system (FDES) has been attracting increasing attention from the research community. To improve the ability of a FDES to handle complex uncertainties, the theory of extended fuzzy discrete event system (EFDES) was developed.

ON THE ENTROPY OF FUZZY EVENTS

Kybernetes, 1983
Entropy measures of fuzzy events of a set X with a (not necessary finite) positive measure µ defined on a σ‐algebra of subsets of X are studied. Using fuzzy measures and fuzzy integrals, a theorem is presented, which gives a sufficient condition for the existence of entropy measures under a list of reasonable axioms.

Fuzzy Discrete Event Simulation for Fuzzy Production Systems Analysis

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1998
Abstract Fuzzy production systems are characterised by vagueness in data and requirements that very often cannot be reduced to stochastic models. Therefore, such production systems cannot be analysed by using classical techniques such as Queue Theory or Discrete Simulation Analysis.
