FUZZY ASSESSMENT OF FMEA FOR A SEWAGE PLANT
Journal of the Chinese Institute of Industrial Engineers, 2007Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) is a widely used risk assessment tool to identify the potential failure modes of a product or a process. By ranking the priorities for corrective action according to the respective effects of the failures, the chance of the failures can be reduced or eliminated. However, there could be several difficulties during

A Reliability Risk Assessment Method Based on Fuzzy FMEA
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011A reliability risk assessment model based on fuzzy FMEA was presented by using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. Fuzzy matrixes were constructed according to the investigation data, in which occurrence probability ranking, effect severity ranking and detection difficulty ranking are all weighted analyzed.

Development of a fuzzy FMEA based product design system
The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2007The demand for high-quality and low-cost products with short development time in the dynamic global market has forced researchers and industries to focus on various effective product development strategies. The authors are carrying out research studies to explore the applicability of fuzzy logic and knowledge-based systems technologies to today's ...

FMEA Using Fuzzy Digraph and Matrix Approach
2016The digraph and matrix approach (Rao and Gandhi 2002; Baykasoglu 2014) is based on graph theory and matrix algebra and has some desirable properties, such as “ability to model criteria interactions” and “ability to generate hierarchical models,” for solving complex decision-making problems.

FMEA Using Intuitionistic Fuzzy Hybrid TOPSIS Approach
2016In Chap. 3, the theory of intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs) has been proven to be useful for FMEA to deal with the vagueness and uncertainty existed in the risk-evaluating process. The technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS), proposed by Hwang and Yoon (1981), is one of the well-known MCDM methods and has been extensively

FMEA of Turbocharged Diesel Engine System Using Fuzzy Inferencing
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2000<div class="htmlview paragraph">This paper presents a novel method of the FMEA of the turbocharged diesel engine system using fuzzy inferencing. It uses a membership function to represent information of FMEA (e.g. failure mode and failure effect) that is described by linguistic variables to the defined categories.

A Revised Matrix FMEA Technique Based on Fuzzy Logic
Volume 5: 14th Reliability, Stress Analysis, and Failure Prevention Conference; 7th Flexible Assembly Conference, 2000Abstract A methodology combining the benefits of matrix FMEA and fuzzy logic is presented in this paper. The matrix approach is improved to develop a pictorial representation retaining all relevant qualitative and quantitative information of a several FMEA element relationships, which can be described as many-to-many.

Reliability in Automotive Engineering by Fuzzy Rule-Based FMEA
2012The Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is a reliability estimation method intended to identify potential failures which have significant consequences affecting the system performance. In a Failure Modes and Effects Analysis the Probability of Failure (PoF), Consequence of Failure (CoF) and Detectability of Failure (DoF) may be determined using ...
