Sequential Extraction of Clusters by Fuzzy Hough Transforms.

open access: yesThe Journal of the Institute of Image Information and Television Engineers, 1997

Retinal Vessel Segmentation: A Comprehensive Review From Classical Methods to Deep Learning Advances (1982–2025)

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Four decades of retinal vessel segmentation research (1982–2025) are synthesized, spanning classical image processing, machine learning, and deep learning paradigms. A meta‐analysis of 428 studies establishes a unified taxonomy and highlights performance trends, generalization capabilities, and clinical relevance.

Sleep‐trackers in the wild: A faceted taxonomy for information and interaction design

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Consumer‐grade sleep‐tracking technologies (CSTs) have brought sleep into everyday data practices, reframing it from a clinical concern into a site of personal optimization and reflection. Yet existing taxonomies of sleep‐tracking often medicalize users and overlook the complexity of sleep‐tracking technologies. This paper presents SleepTax, a

Off-line Recognition of Unconstrained Handwritten Numerals Using Fuzzy Hough Transform

open access: yes, 2009
A fuzzy system for handwritten numerals recognition using a fuzzy Hough transform technique is presented. The system is an off-line system since the data processed was written before the time of recognition.

Noncircular iris segmentation based on weighted adaptive hough transform using smartphone database [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Iris segmentation methods work based on ideal imaging conditions which produce good output results. However, the segmentation accuracy of an iris recognition system significantly influences its performance, especially with data that captured in ...

‘Mere Amateurs’? Elementary Teachers and the Making of Scientific Authority in the British Child Study Movement

open access: yesHistory, EarlyView.
Abstract This article offers new perspectives on the relationship between elementary teaching, scientific expertise and the professionalization of the human sciences. Previous scholarship has demonstrated the ready existence of ‘amateur’ science societies in the nineteenth century where cross‐class exchanges were common.

Dynamical simulation of on‐axis transmission Kikuchi and spot diffraction patterns, based on accurate diffraction geometry calibration

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Transmission Kikuchi diffraction in the scanning electron microscope has gained popularity as a materials characterisation technique for its high throughput and nanometre‐level spatial resolution. While conventional diffraction pattern analysis routines focus on Kikuchi bands on the diffraction patterns, the full physical picture of electron ...
