Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Fuzzy implication functions with a specific expression: The polynomial case

open access: yes, 2022
In the last decades, more than a hundred families of fuzzy implication functions have been proposed. These families are generated by adequately combining other logical connectives or univariate functions. However, no attention has been given to the final

Fuzzy-Fated Filters of 𝑅0-Algebras

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2011
Fuzzy set theory of fated filters in 𝑅0-algebras is considered. A characterization of a fuzzy-fated filter is established, and conditions for a fuzzy filter to be a fuzzy-fated filter are provided.

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...

Neuro-genetic approach to multidimensional fuzzy reasoning for pattern classification

open access: yes, 2022
S.449-483To tackle the pattern classification problems first we give a new interpretation to the multidimensional fuzzy implication (MFI). This new interpretation of MFI is used for multidimensional fuzzy reasoning (MFR) for pattern classification.

Fuzzy implications and inference processes

open access: yesIEEE 3rd International Conference on Computational Cybernetics, 2005. ICCC 2005., 2006
We define fuzzy implications in general, then study their families defined from t-norms, t-conorms and strong negations. Connections between such implications and negations are established. Some basic results are presented concerning the contrapositive symmetry property. The study gives birth to a new class of t-norms.

Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

Advances in fuzzy implication functions

open access: yes, 2013
Fuzzy implication functions are one of the main operations in fuzzy logic. They generalize the classical implication, which takes values in the set {0,1}, to fuzzy logic, where the truth values belong to the unit interval [0,1].

IFI-ideals of lattice implication algebras [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, 2013
The notion of –ideal is introduced in lattice implication algebras. Firstly, the equivalent conditions of –ideals and –ideals are given in lattice implication algebras.

Partial Residuated Implications Induced by Partial Triangular Norms and Partial Residuated Lattices

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
This paper reveals some relations between fuzzy logic and quantum logic on partial residuated implications (PRIs) induced by partial t-norms as well as proposes partial residuated monoids (PRMs) and partial residuated lattices (PRLs) by defining partial ...
