Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...

This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.

Fuzzy adjunctions and fuzzy morphological operations based on fuzzy implications
We use conjunctions and fuzzy implications to define fuzzy dilations and fuzzy erosions in fuzzy morphology according to Nachtegael el al. 2003.(1) Further we observe that these fuzzy dilations and fuzzy erosions constitute fuzzy adjunctions that are ...

Efficient and Robust Standing Postures of Quadruped Robots
A calibrated static framework estimates load, optimizes torques, and adapts posture so quadruped robots stand efficiently and robustly under external payloads, achieving up to 50% lower torque demand. Inspired by the natural posture adjustments of animals under external loading, this article presents an optimization‐based framework for minimizing joint

A Fuzzy Logic for Semi-Overlap Functions and Their Residua
Semi-overlap functions as a generalization of left-continuous t-norms also have residua. In this paper, we develop a new residuated logic, SOL-logic, based on semi-overlap functions and their residua. The corresponding algebraic structures, SOL-algebras,

From Lab to Landscape: Environmental Biohybrid Robotics for Ecological Futures
This Perspective explores environmental biohybrid robotics, integrating living tissues, microorganisms, and insects for operation in real‐world ecosystems. It traces the leap from laboratory experiments to forests, wetlands, and urban environments and discusses key challenges, development pathways, and opportunities for ecological monitoring and ...

Rating and ranking firms with fuzzy expert systems: the case of Camuzzi
In this paper we present a real-life application of a fuzzy expert system aimed at rating and ranking firms. Unlike standard DCF models, it integrates financial, strategic and business determinants and processes both quantitative and qualitative ...

FUZZY INFERENCE NEURAL NETWORKS WITH FUZZY PARAMETERS
This paper concerns fuzzy neural networks and fuzzy inference neural networks, which are two different approaches to neuro-fuzzy combinations. The former is a direct fuzzification of artificial neural networks by introducing fuzzy signals and fuzzy ...

We introduce fuzzy enriched contraction, which extends the classical notion of fuzzy Banach contraction and encompasses specific fuzzy non-expansive mappings. Our investigation establishes both the presence and uniqueness of fixed points considering this
