Book Recommender System Using Fuzzy Linguistic Quantifiers

2017
The recommender systems are used to facilitate the users with appropriate choices according to their preferences for various online services. Due to the increasing need, various recommendation systems have been developed including recommendation for music, book, movie, etc.

A ‘human-consistent’ degree of consensus based on fuzzy login with linguistic quantifiers

Mathematical Social Sciences, 1989
Fuzzy set theory and fuzzy logic methods are used to formalize the natural ``human-consistent'' concept of consensus. The linguistic quantifiers representating the human perception of majority are handled by means of the Yager's fuzzy-logic calculus.

On Linguistic Summarization of Time Series Using Fuzzy Logic with Linguistic Quantifiers

2008
We discuss first the concept of a linguistic summary of a time series in the setting proposed by the authors1 and then its extension to cover some additional types of summaries that concern the duration of (partial) trends identified here as straight line segments of a piece-wise linear approximation of a time series.

Fuzzy quantifiers: a linguistic technique for data fusion

2001
Fuzzy quantifiers like “few”, “almost all”, “about half” and many others abound in natural language. They are used by humans for describing uncertain facts, quantitative relations and processes. An adequate contradiction-free computer-operational implementation of these quantifiers would provide a class of powerful yet human-understandable operators ...

On Linguistic Summarization of Numerical Time Series Using Fuzzy Logic with Linguistic Quantifiers

2008
We consider an extension to the linguistic summarization of time series data proposed in our previous papers, in particular by introducing a new protoform of the duration based summaries, that is more intuitively appealing. We summarize trends identified here with straight segments of a piecewise linear approximation of time series.

On the role of fuzzy quantified statements in linguistic summarization of data

2011 11th International Conference on Intelligent Systems Design and Applications, 2011
In this paper a discussion on some of the key problems in fuzzy linguistic summarization of data in introduced. Also a description on the stages that the summarization process involving fuzzy quantified statements should accomplish is presented.

Semi-fuzzy quantifiers as a tool for building linguistic summaries of data patterns

2011 IEEE Symposium on Foundations of Computational Intelligence (FOCI), 2011
In this paper we discuss how semi-fuzzy quantifiers are a useful tool for modeling linguistic summaries from data in two aspects: how they provide a systematic mechanism for performing the data summarization task involving fuzzy quantifiers that are different from the usual unary and binary ones and also how they can be used for the detection of ...

A generalization of fuzzy multistage decision-making and control via linguistic quantifiers

International Journal of Control, 1983
Abstract Multistage incision-making (control) under fuzziness is considered. At each control stage, a fuzzy constraint is imposed on the control applied, and a fuzzy goal is imposed on the state attained. An optimal sequence of controls is sought which maximizes the membership function of the fuzzy decision which is assumed to be the intersection of ...

Fuzzy modeling and analytic hierarchy processing to quantify risk levels associated with occupational injuries. I. The development of fuzzy-linguistic risk levels

IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, 1996
This paper presents the Part I in a two-phase research project to develop a fuzzy-linguistic expert system for quantifying and predicting the risk of occupational injury, specifically, cumulative trauma disorders of the forearm and hand. This aspect of the research focuses on the development and representation of linguistic variables to qualify risk ...
