Fuzzy logic and fuzzy reasoning
1979 18th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control including the Symposium on Adaptive Processes, 1979The concepts of truth value restriction and fuzzy logical relation are used to give a general approach to fuzzy logic and also fuzzy reasoning involving propositions with imprecise or vague description.

Fuzzy logic or lukasiewicz logic: A clarification
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1994Pavelka [10] had shown in 1979 that the only natural way of formalizing fuzzy logic for truth-value in the unit interval [0,1] is by using Lukasiewicz's implication operator a→b = min{1, 1−a+b} or some isomorphic form of it A considerable number of other papers around the same time had attempted to formulate alternative definitions for a→b by giving ...

JOINING GÖDEL AND ZADEH FUZZY LOGICS IN FUZZY DESCRIPTION LOGICS
International Journal of Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Knowledge-Based Systems, 2012Ontologies have succeeded as a knowledge representation formalism in many domains of application. Nevertheless, they are not suitable to represent vague or imprecise information. To overcome this limitation, several extensions to classical ontologies based on fuzzy logic have been proposed.

fuzzy logic or fuzzy application? a response to Stockemer’s ‘fuzzy set or fuzzy logic?
European Political Science, 2016In a recent article in this journal, Stockemer characterizes fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) in comparison with Ordinary Least Squares regression as a ‘poor methodological choice’ because of its ‘suboptimal nature’ for the study of descriptive female representation in national assemblies across the globe.

A comparative study on Fuzzy Logic and Intuitionistic Fuzzy Logic
2018 International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communication Control and Networking (ICACCCN), 2018Fuzzy Logic (FL) deals with uncertainty, vagueness, imprecision, partial truth etc while reasoning process. It helps in making decision with imprecise and incomplete information. At the other end, we have intuitionistic fuzzy logic which is the superset of fuzzy logic.

Formal logical calculi underlying fuzzy logic are investigated, main attention being paid to Lukasiewicz’s logic and (a variant of) its generalization by Pavelka. The paper has an introductory and survey character.

Combining Fuzzy Description Logics and Fuzzy Logic Programs
2008 IEEE/WIC/ACM International Conference on Web Intelligence and Intelligent Agent Technology, 2008Integrating rules and ontologies has become a key requirement for applications in the semantic Web. Web applications in general have also motivated another requirement, that of handling uncertainty, an intrinsic feature of the real world. In this paper, we present a fuzzy extension to description logic programs (DLP), called fhDLP.

Fuzzy logic is an approach to AI which focuses on the mechanization of natural language. It has long been proposed by Zadeh, its originator, as another paradigm for AI and the correct way to achieve "human level machine intelligence". To present day, this approach hasn't prevailed, but in the light of some recent tendencies in AI development it can ...

Journal of Biotechnology, 1992
This paper describes a fuzzy sets method which is very useful for handling uncertainties and essential for knowledge acquisition of a human expert. Kinetics of a reactor is often complex and not trivial to describe by mathematical equations. Reactor control by traditional control technology is therefore difficult. A novel technology is presented.
