A fuzzy logic system for expert systems

Artificial Intelligence for Engineering Design, Analysis and Manufacturing, 1988
Using the theory of fuzzy sets, this paper develops a fuzzy logic reasoning system as an augmentation to a rule-based expert system to deal with fuzzy information. First, fuzzy set theorems and fuzzy logic principles are briefly reviewed and organized to form a basis for the proposed fuzzy logic system.

Fuzzy Logic Systems

2021
The word “fuzzy” means imprecisely defined, confused, and vague. However, fuzzy systems benefit from mathematical formulation to determine their output. This chapter deals with type-1 fuzzy systems as well as interval type-2 fuzzy systems in which different parts of these fuzzy systems are explained.

Fuzzy logic in control systems: fuzzy logic controller. I

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 1990
For pt.I see ibid., vol.20, no.2, p.404-18, 1990. The basic aspects of the FLC (fuzzy logic controller) decision-making logic are examined. Several issues, including the definitions of a fuzzy implication, compositional operators, the interpretations of the sentence connectives 'and' and 'also', and fuzzy inference mechanisms, are investigated ...

Towards a fuzzy-logic programming system: a 1st-order fuzzy logic

Knowledge-Based Systems, 1992
Abstract Traditional logic and logic programming languages cannot handle uncertainty. Fuzzy logic can, but nobody has yet devised a readily computable form. One possible way to achieve this is to define a propositional fuzzy logic, extend this to a 1st-order form, convert it to Horn-clause form, and, finally, to devise a theorem prover to manipulate ...

A complementary fuzzy logic system

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 1997
This article discusses complementary (C) fuzzy logic system that is one of continuous multiary logic systems that satisfies a complementary law differently from usual fuzzy logic systems. This article includes formulation of the C fuzzy logic system, derivation of tautologies, and mentions an example that typically shows a difference in inference ...

Towards a fuzzy logic programming system: a clausal form fuzzy logic

Knowledge-Based Systems, 1995
Traditional logic and logic programming languages cannot handle uncertainty. Fuzzy logic can, but it requires a readily computable form. One possible way to achieve this is to define a propositional fuzzy logic, extend this to a first order form, convert it to Horn clause form, and, finally, to devise a theorem prover to manipulate the Horn clauses ...

FUZZY LOGIC FOR CONTROL SYSTEMS

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1992
Abstract Ever since fuzzy set theory was first proposed by Professor Zadeh, People in the control field have examined very carefully its applicability to the real world. Very few results of practical application were reported namely due to the difficulty of proving validity.

Applications of Fuzzy Logic to Systems' Modelling

International Journal of Fuzzy System Applications, 2013
They appear often situations in a system's operation characterized by a degree of vagueness and/or uncertainty. In the present paper, the author uses principles of fuzzy logic to develop a general model representing such kind of situations. They also present three alternative methods for measuring a fuzzy system's effectiveness, including the use of ...
