On the completion of fuzzy metric spaces

Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 2008
The main result is the following: Suppose that \((x,d,L,R)\) is a fuzzy metric space. Suppose that \(\{\lambda_0(x_n,y_n) \}^\infty_{n=1}\) and \(\{\rho_0(x_n,y_n)\}^\infty_{n=1}\) are left equicontinuous, whenever \(\{x_n\}\) and \(\{y_n\}\) are Cauchy sequences. Then \((x,d,L,R)\) has a completion which is uniquely determined up to isometry.

Fuzzy surrogate safety metrics

2019 6th International Conference on Models and Technologies for Intelligent Transportation Systems (MT-ITS), 2019
Road safety is one of the most significant performance indicators in traffic networks. Automation technologies can provide significant opportunities for improvement. However, evaluating the risk involved in using these technologies is not a trivial task.

Actual metric representing a fuzzy metric

The Journal of Analysis, 2020
This paper defines two ordinary metrics, the upper lambda-metric and the lower lambda-metric from a fuzzy metric. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the coincidence between these two ordinary metrics are given. Relations between topologies induced by a metric and its fuzzifications are studied.

Metric properties of fuzzy partitions

Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1996
Fuzzy partitions can be represented as weighted sums of classical partitions. \textit{J. C. Bezdek} and \textit{J. D. Harris} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 67, 490-512 (1979; Zbl 0411.68056)] described a ``minimax'' decomposition of any fuzzy partition into such a weighted sum claiming to get shortest sums in this way. The author disproves this claim.
