Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1983 AbstractFuzzy numbers have been introduced by Zadeh in order to deal with imprecise numerical quantities in a practical way. We consider eight classes of fuzzy numbers. We define nine operations for the addition of these fuzzy numbers and we investigate interrelationships between these operations.
