Fuzzy numbers

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1983
AbstractFuzzy numbers have been introduced by Zadeh in order to deal with imprecise numerical quantities in a practical way. We consider eight classes of fuzzy numbers. We define nine operations for the addition of these fuzzy numbers and we investigate interrelationships between these operations.

Fuzzy Distance of Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Intelligent Systems Research, 2006
Fuzzy distance is applied on data analysis, classification, and product positioning analysis widely. In this paper, We introduce a fuzzy distance by using graded mean integration representation of generalized fuzzy number and the span of fuzzy number, We also discuss the distance of the linguistic data of “greater or less than x” and “about x”.

The Pentagonal Fuzzy Number: Its Different Representations, Properties, Ranking, Defuzzification and Application in Game Problems

open access: yesSymmetry, 2019
In this paper, different measures of interval-valued pentagonal fuzzy numbers (IVPFN) associated with assorted membership functions (MF) were explored, considering significant exposure of multifarious interval-valued fuzzy numbers in neoteric studies ...

Ordered semigroups characterized by (ϵ ϵ vqk)-fuzzy generalized bi-ideals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper, we introduce a considerable machinery that permits us to characterize a number of special (fuzzy) subsets in ordered semigroups. In this regard, we generalize (Davvaz and Khan in Inform Sci 181:1759-1770 2011) and define (is an element of,

An Improved Method to Transform Triangular Fuzzy Number Into Basic Belief Assignment in Evidence Theory

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Dempster-Shafer evidence theory (D-S theory) is a developing theory to solve the uncertain problems and it has an important impact on many fields such as information fusion, expert systems, and machine learning.

Vendor-Buyers relationship model for deteriorating items with shortages, fuzzy trapezoidal costs and inflation [PDF]

open access: yesYugoslav Journal of Operations Research, 2013
In this paper, an integrated inventory model is developed from the perspective of a single vendor and multi-buyers for deteriorating items under fuzzy environment and inflation. In the development of the model, it is assumed that all costs parameters,

On Multidimensional Linear Modelling Including Real Uncertainty

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2014
The theoretical background for abstract formalization of vague phenomenon of complex systems is fuzzy set theory. In the paper are defined vague data as specialized fuzzy sets - fuzzy numbers and there is described a fuzzy linear regression model as a ...
