Associative monotonic operations in fuzzy set theory

Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1984
Properties of associative monotonic binary operations on an interval are thoroughly investigated. These considerations allow the authors to show that the lattice operations have a rather unique position among other possible operations on fuzzy sets. Other consequences are given for generalized operations on fuzzy numbers or random variables.

Closure Operators in Fuzzy Set Theory

1999
In accordance with Tarski point of view, in this chapter the theory of closure operators is proposed as a unifying tool for fuzzy logics. Indeed, let F be the set of formulas of a given language. Then an abstract fuzzy logic is defined by a fuzzy semantics (i.e. a class of valuations of the formulas in F) and by a closure operator in the lattice of the

Spherical fuzzy soft sets: theory and aggregation operator with its applications

2022
The aim of this paper is to redefine the notion of spherical fuzzy soft sets as a more general concept to make them more functional for solving multi-criteria decision-making problems. We first define the set operations under the new spherical fuzzy soft set environment and obtain some fundamental properties of them.

Weighted minimum and maximum operations in fuzzy set theory

Information Sciences, 1986
This short note comments on the interpretation of weighted minimum and maximum operations introduced in a previous paper [ibid. 36, 85-121 (1985; Zbl 0582.03040)] as medians, and corrects a misleading statement about it.
