Fuzzy, I-fuzzy, and H-fuzzy partitions to describe clusters

2016 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems (FUZZ-IEEE), 2016
In this paper we discuss how three types of fuzzy partitions can be used to describe the results of three types of cluster structures. Standard fuzzy partitions are suitable for centroid based clusters, and I-fuzzy partitions for clusters represented by segments or lines (e.g., c-varieties). In this paper, we introduce hesitant fuzzy partitions.

Applying fuzzy logic to codesign partitioning

IEEE Micro, 1997
We propose a tool that will allow designers using the codesign approach to partially automate the development of embedded systems. The framework takes advantage of tools already available on the market for VLSI CAD as well as soft computing techniques.

Fuzzy Sets and Fuzzy Partitions

1993
In this paper some connections between a characterization of fuzzy sets and a characterization of fuzzy partitions are explored. We extend the notion of α-level set and sharpness of fuzzy sets to fuzzy partitions. Then we define α-level equivalence and relation of sharpness on the set of all fuzzy partitions of a finite set of objects into k clusters ...

Interval-valued fuzzy hypergraph and fuzzy partition

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 1997
This paper extends the work of H. Lee-Kwang and L.M. Lee (1995) to present the concept of the interval-valued fuzzy hypergraph. In the interval-valued fuzzy hypergraph, the concepts of the dual interval-valued fuzzy hypergraph, the crisp-valued alpha-cut hypergraph, and the interval-valued [alpha(1),alpha(2 )]-cut at beta level hypergraph are developed,

Fuzzy partitioning with FID3.1

18th International Conference of the North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society - NAFIPS (Cat. No.99TH8397), 2003
FID3.1 builds fuzzy decision trees, with a range of choices for fuzzy operators and inferences. Various FID algorithms are being widely used for dealing with numeric and/or imprecise data, for fuzzy classification or for generating fuzzy rules. FID 3.0 adds a number of new features, the most important being a fuzzy partitioning mechanism construction ...

Fuzzy Weighted Support Vector Regression With a Fuzzy Partition

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 2007
The problem of the traditional support vector regression (SVR) approach, referred to as the global SVR approach, is the incapability of interpreting local behavior of the estimated models. An approach called the local SVR approach was proposed in the literature to cope with this problem.

Fuzzy information and optimal fuzzy partition

PeachFuzz 2000. 19th International Conference of the North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society - NAFIPS (Cat. No.00TH8500), 2002
The paper is devoted to the problem of measuring fuzzy information. Based on the extension of crisp stochastical approaches into fuzzy cases a concept and measure of the fuzzy information are proposed. Aspects of transferring the fuzzy information through fuzzy controllers using different fuzzy control models are also studied which allow us to ...

On External Measures for Validation of Fuzzy Partitions

2007
The procedure of evaluating the results of a clustering algorithm is know under the term cluster validity. In general terms, cluster validity criteria can be classified in three categories: internal, external and relative. In this work we focus on the external criteria, which evaluate the results of a clustering algorithm based on a pre-specified ...

Fuzzy Sets in Clustering: On Fuzzy Partitions

2019
Clustering is often classified as an unsupervised machine learning approach. It has been extensively used for data analysis. It permits us to extract some structure from a data set. Clustering can be applied to all types of data.

Fuzzy partitions and fuzzy-quotient rings

Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1993
The cosets of a fuzzy ideal \(M\) in a ring \(A\) form another ring \(A/M\), called the fuzzy-quotient ring of \(A\) by \(M\). We show that \(A/M\) is always a fuzzy partition of \(A\), and a fuzzy partition of \(A\) will be a fuzzy-quotient ring (with respect to some fuzzy ideal) if and only if its associated fuzzy similarity relation is compatible ...
