Developments of fuzzy PID controllers

Expert Systems, 2005
Abstract: This paper describes the development and tuning methods for a novel self-organizing fuzzy proportional integral derivative (PID) controller. Before applying fuzzy logic, the PID gains are tuned using a conventional tuning method. At supervisory level, fuzzy logic readjusts the PID gains online.

An Improved Robust Fuzzy-PID Controller With Optimal Fuzzy Reasoning

IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part B (Cybernetics), 2005
Many fuzzy control schemes used in industrial practice today are based on some simplified fuzzy reasoning methods, which are simple but at the expense of losing robustness, missing fuzzy characteristics, and having inconsistent inference. The concept of optimal fuzzy reasoning is introduced in this paper to overcome these shortcomings.

Comparative Study on Fuzzy PID Controller and Conventional PID Controller

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
PID controller is simple, stable and reliable. But the controller parameters cannot adjust themselves when the object varies. To solve the problem, this paper combined fuzzy control and PID controller, realized self-adjustment of PID parameters using fuzzy reasoning method, analysed the advantages over the traditional PID controller. The simulation was

Between fuzzy-PID and PID-conventional controllers: a good choice

Proceedings of North American Fuzzy Information Processing, 2002
The main problem in the synthesis of a control system is its parameter adjustment. Fuzzy logic controllers (FLC) have been proved to be very efficient in controlling complex and difficult-to-model processes. One of the main problems of these fuzzy controllers is that there is no systematic procedure for tuning.

Fuzzy PID Control of Microgrids

2019
The purpose of this chapter is design and application of intelligent methods based on the fuzzy logic (FL) type PID controller for adaptive controlling of the microgrids. The traditional structure of the power systems is being changed continuously due to environmental limitations and depreciated infrastructures.

Multi-stage fuzzy PID controller with a fuzzy switch

Proceedings of the 2001 IEEE International Conference on Control Applications (CCA'01) (Cat. No.01CH37204), 2002
Use of a multi-stage fuzzy logic controller (MSFLC) is explored for PID feedback control. This approach blends a proportional-plus-derivative fuzzy logic controller (PDFLC) with an integral fuzzy logic input. The multi-stage structure operates on fuzzy values by passing the consequence of a prior stage onto the next stage as fact.

Discrete-Time Fuzzy PID Control

2015
In this study, a parallel structure of fuzzy PID control systems is presented. It is associated with a new tuning method which, based on gain margin and phase margin specifications, determines the parameters of the fuzzy PID controller. In comparison with conventional PID controllers, the presented fuzzy PID controller shows higher control gains when ...

A New PID Fuzzy Controller (Fuzzy P(I+D))

2011 International Conference on Information Management, Innovation Management and Industrial Engineering, 2011
A new two-dimension PID fuzzy controller, fuzzy P(I+D) for short is put forward in this paper. The design of the fuzzy P(I+D) is simply for the reason that the control rules are the same as that of the other popular fuzzy controllers, also the structure of the fuzzy P(I+D) is similar to that of the traditional PID controllers with non-linearity.
