A fast digital fuzzy processor

IEEE Micro, 1999
This digital fuzzy processor-designed and realized in 0.7-/spl mu/m CMOS technology-demonstrates a processing rate from 80 to 320 ns. A parallel pipeline architecture supports fast selection of the active fuzzy rules. Specifically, we designed an Active-Rule-Selector for selecting a subset of the fuzzy rules, called active fuzzy rules, and divided the ...

A fuzzy RISC processor

IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, 2000
We describe application-specific extensions for fuzzy processing to a general purpose processor. The application-specific instruction set extensions were defined and evaluated using hardware/software codesign techniques. Based on this approach, we have extended the MIPS instruction set architecture with only a few new instructions to significantly ...

Fuzzy inference and fuzzy inference processor

IEEE Micro, 1993
Fuzzy inference, a data processing method based on the fuzzy theory that has found wide use in the control field, is reviewed. Consumer electronics, which accounts for most current applications of this concept, does not require very high speeds. Although software running on a conventional microprocessor can perform these inferences, high-speed control ...

Design of a memristor based fuzzy processor

AEU - International Journal of Electronics and Communications, 2018
Abstract This paper presents a mixed-signal hybrid CMOS/Nano circuit to implement a fully programmable fuzzy processor that performs the zero-order Sugeno's algorithm. The programmability is incorporated in both the rule base and the membership function generator.

A general-purpose fuzzy inference processor

Proceedings of the Fourth International Conference on Microelectronics for Neural Networks and Fuzzy Systems, 1995
The SAE 81C99 processor exhibits 4 different operation modes, 8 programmable fuzzy algorithms, and up to 256 inputs, 64 outputs, and 16,384 rules. The 1.0-/spl mu/m CMOS chip serves as a stand-alone device or as an on-chip module for 8- or 16-bit microcontrollers.

A parameterized fuzzy processor and its applications

Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1993
Abstract In this paper, a parameterized fuzzy processor (PFP) is presented based on a designed fuzzy instruction set of the parameterized fuzzy number (PFN). This PFN is presented by some parameters of the universe of the discourse instead of a series of the membership grades. The algorithms of these instructions are based on the parameter operations

A superconducting fuzzy processor

[1992 Proceedings] IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems, 2003
The authors propose a novel Josephson fuzzy processor which uses Josephson junctions. The two main circuits in the fuzzy processor, an inference engine and a defuzzifier, are described. An algorithm for performing the function of a defuzzifier by mainly using compare circuits instead of multipliers and dividers is discussed.

A fuzzy logic inference processor

Third International Conference on Industrial Fuzzy Control and Intelligent Systems, 1994
A mixed analog-digital fuzzy logic inference engine chip fabricated in an 0.8 /spl mu/m CMOS process is described. Interface to the processor behaves like a static RAM, and computation of the fuzzy logic inference is performed between memory locations in parallel by an array of analog charge-domain circuits.
