On Optimal and Asymptotic Properties of a Fuzzy L2 Estimator

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
A fuzzy least squares estimator in the multiple with fuzzy-input–fuzzy-output linear regression model is considered. The paper provides a formula for the L2 estimator of the fuzzy regression model. This paper proposes several operations for fuzzy numbers

Self‐Powered Flexible Triboelectric‐Gated Ion‐Gel Transistor for Neuromorphic Tactile Sensing and Human Activity Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A fully flexible ion‐gel‐gated graphene‐channel transistor driven by a triboelectric nanogenerator enables self‐powered tactile sensing and synaptic learning. Mimicking spike‐rate‐dependent plasticity, the device exhibits frequency‐selective potentiation and depression, supporting rate‐coded neuromorphic computation even under flex.

A short survey of normative properties of possibility distributions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
In 2001 Carlsson and Full´er [1] introduced the possibilistic mean value, variance and covariance of fuzzy numbers. In 2003 Full´er and Majlender [4] introduced the notations of crisp weighted possibilistic mean value, variance and covariance of fuzzy

Assembling a True “Olympic Gel” From over 16 000 Combinatorial DNA Rings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Olympic gels are an elusive class of soft matter, consisting of molecular networks held together purely by mechanically interlocked rings. Their topological structure promises unique properties and functions, but their synthesis has proven notoriously difficult.

THE CONCEPT OF NORMALITY FOR FUZZY RANDOM VARIABLES [PDF]

open access: yesThe Annals of Probability, 1985
The authors first give some preliminaries on fuzzy random variables and then describe an embedding theorem for the space of fuzzy sets with compact convex level that satisfies a certain Lipschitz condition. Finally they define the concept of normal fuzzy random variables in \(R^ p\) and represent such a variable as the sum of a constant fuzzy set and a

Segmentation of pulmonary nodules in thoracic CT scans: a region growing approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper presents an efficient algorithm for segmenting different types of pulmonary nodules including high and low contrast nodules, nodules with vasculature attachment, and nodules in the close vicinity of the lung wall or diaphragm.

From Copper Nanoparticles to Alumina Encapsulated Porous Layers With Enhanced Mechanical Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study analyzes the synthesis‐structure relation of individual Cu nanoparticles and highly porous nanoparticle‐based Cu films using different sputtering‐based nanoparticle sources. The inherent mechanical instability of the films is tackled with Al2O3 encapsulation through atomic layer deposition, enabling 4‐fold increase in critical force in ...

Fuzzy Fractional Brownian Motion: Review and Extension

open access: yesAlgorithms
In traditional finance, option prices are typically calculated using crisp sets of variables. However, as reported in the literature novel, these parameters possess a degree of fuzziness or uncertainty.
