Fuzzy Judgments and Fuzzy Sets
International Journal of Strategic Decision Sciences, 2010Using fuzzy set theory has become attractive to many people. However, the many references cited here and in other works, little thought is given to why numbers should be made fuzzy before plunging into the necessary simulations to crank out numbers without giving reason or proof that it works to one’s advantage.

In this note we compare notions of rough set and fuzzy set, and we show that these two notions are different.

On the degree of fuzziness of a fuzzy set
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 1990The purpose of this paper is to study the notion of transom fuzzy indefinite integral on the \(\sigma\)-algebra of fuzzy measurable subsets of a given space. The probability of a fuzzy event, defined by a Lebesgue-Stieltjes integral, is obtained as a particular case.

Non–fuzzy sets for intuitionistic fuzzy sets
Journal of Discrete Mathematical Sciences and Cryptography, 2018AbstractWe examine an important paper of Gerstenkorn and Manko that was published in Fuzzy Sets and Systems. Their paper is the pioneer for correlation coefficient similarity measure. We point out several questionable results and then provide our improvement that will useful to develop theoretical structure for similarity measures under intuitionistic ...

The main aim of the chapter is somewhat terminological. We shall first fix terminology, and notation, and secondly mention some well known results used in the book.

Fuzzy sets, advanced fuzzy sets and hybrids
2017 International Conference on Energy, Communication, Data Analytics and Soft Computing (ICECDS), 2017Fuzzy Sets were proposed several years ago with various extensions in later years. Each extension has advantages over the fuzzy sets. Rough sets are used to handle incomplete information. Interval-valued fuzzy sets deal with uncertainty and vagueness.

Given a set X, the lattice \(F(X,^*[0,1])\) of the nonstandard fuzzy subsets of X is considered, i.e. the L-subsets with L equal to the unit interval \({}^*[0,1]\) of a nonstandard model of analysis. To show the appropriateness of such a concept, two examples of vague concepts are given.

Fuzzy Soft Set and Soft Fuzzy Set
2008 Fourth International Conference on Natural Computation, 2008In this paper the concept of soft fuzzy set is given and an example is presented which testifies the existing significance of soft fuzzy set. Then some properties on soft fuzzy set are discussed. At last the relations of fuzzy soft sets and soft fuzzy sets are compared by instances.

Picture fuzzy sets and 3-fuzzy sets
2018 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems (FUZZ-IEEE), 2018Picture fuzzy sets can be seen as particular "neutrosophic sets", without forming a sublattice. On the other hand, they can be isomorphically related to 3-fuzzy sets, and then they form a bounded lattice. We discuss some possible algebraic looks on picture fuzzy sets and related aggregation functions, including several examples.
