Fuzzy Probabilistic Sets and r-Fuzzy Sets

2008 Fifth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery, 2008
In this paper, a connection between the fuzzy probabilistic set and the r-fuzzy set is established. Firstly, a new concept of r-fuzzy nested set is presented and it is pointed that a fuzzy probabilistic set is an equivalent class of a r-fuzzy nested set.

Generalization of fuzzy sets type-2, fuzzy quantifiers sets and α-cut fuzzy sets fuzzy temporal sets, fuzzy granular sets and fuzzy rough sets for incomplete information

2014 International Conference on Fuzzy Theory and Its Applications (iFUZZY2014), 2014
The fuzzy logic deals incomplete information with belief rather than probability. The fuzzy propositions deal with incomplete information. In this paper, a new representation of fizzy set typ-2, fuzzy set α-cut and fuzzy temporal set occurs in fuzzy propositions.

Fuzzy Set Theory

2017
This entry presents a definition of fuzzy set theory and an overview of some applications to model flexible information retrieval systems. The entry focuses on a description of fuzzy indexing procedures defined to represent the varying significance of terms in synthesizing the documents’ contents, the representation of structured documents so as to ...

Introduction to Fuzzy Sets

1985
Most of our traditional tools for formal modeling, reasoning, and computing are crisp, deterministic, and precise in character. By crisp we mean dichotomous, that is, yes-or-no-type rather than more-or-less type. In conventional dual logic, for instance, a statement can be true or false—and nothing in between.

Fuzzy sets are fuzzy-continous [PDF]

open access: possible22nd International Conference of the North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society, NAFIPS 2003, 2004
In a classical arrangement we have on the one hand discrete symbolic and on the other hand continous numerical data attributes. The following evident questions arise: How can fuzzy sets be integrated in this classical schema? Are fuzzy sets discrete and/or continous? Can we measure how discrete, or continous, respectively, an attribute is?

Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets as a Generalization of Fuzzy Sets

2014
In the mid-1980s Atanassov introduced the concept of an intuitionistic fuzzy set. Basically, his idea was that unlike the conventional fuzzy sets in which imprecision is just modeled by the membership degree from [0,1], and for which the non-membership degree is just automatically the complementation to 1 of the membership degree, in an intuitionistic ...

FUZZY SETS AND SYSTEMS

International Journal of General Systems, 1990
The notion of fuzziness as defined in this paper relates to situations in which the source of imprecision is not a random variable or a stochastic process, but rather a class or classes which do not possess sharply defined boundaries, e.g., the “class of bald men,” or the “class of numbers which are much greater than 10,” or the “class of adaptive ...

On Fuzzy Sets Convolution, Fuzzy Lipschitz Sets and Triangular Fuzzy Sets of Rank p

2009
In this paper we present some counterexamples to a result related to fuzzy Lipschitz sets and fuzzy sets convolution. Using the concept of fuzzy triangular set of rank p is presented an alternative proof of a interesting density result over fuzzy sets which was previosly proved by using the result belied.
