Implication functions in interval-valued fuzzy set theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Interval-valued fuzzy set theory is an extension of fuzzy set theory in which the real, but unknown, membership degree is approximated by a closed interval of possible membership degrees.

Application of Neutrosophic Set Theory in Generalized Assignment Problem [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems, 2015
This paper presents the application of Neutrosophic Set Theory (NST) in solving Generalized Assignment Problem (GAP). GAP has been solved earlier under fuzzy environment. NST is a generalization of the concept of classical set, fuzzy set, interval-valued

L-Fuzzy Sets and Isomorphic Lattices: Are All the “New” Results Really New? †

open access: yesMathematics, 2018
We review several generalizations of the concept of fuzzy sets with two- or three-dimensional lattices of truth values and study their relationship. It turns out that, in the two-dimensional case, several of the lattices of truth values considered here ...

Probability on fuzzy sets and ϵ-fuzzy sets

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1983
AbstractThis research investigates the development of probability calculi for fuzzy sets (abbreviated FS's). Two FS algebras are employed, each as a basis for a FS probability calculus. One employs minima for FS intersections and consequently maxima for unions.

Decrypting cancer's spatial code: from single cells to tissue niches

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial transcriptomics maps gene activity across tissues, offering powerful insights into how cancer cells are organised, switch states and interact with their surroundings. This review outlines emerging computational, artificial intelligence (AI) and geospatial approaches to define cell states, uncover tumour niches and integrate spatial data with ...

Approximate Reasoning with Fuzzy Booleans [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper introduces, in analogy to the concept of fuzzy numbers, the concept of fuzzy booleans, and examines approximate reasoning with the compositional rule of inference using fuzzy booleans.

A Geometric Interpretation of the Neutrosophic Set - A Generalization of the Intuitionistic Fuzzy Set

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper we generalize the intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS), paraconsistent set, and intuitionistic set to the neutrosophic set (NS). Several examples are presented.

CD9‐association with PIP2 areas is regulated by a CD9 salt bridge

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The tetraspanin CD9 has an intracellular salt bridge. If CD9 opens, open‐CD9 moves from PIP2‐rich areas to regions populated by its interaction partner EWI‐2. Hence, the state of the salt bridge regulates the distribution of CD9 and by this CD9‐EWI‐2 complex formation.

Fuzzy Galois connections on fuzzy sets

open access: yes, 1981
In fairly elementary terms this paper presents how the theory of preordered fuzzy sets, more precisely quantale-valued preorders on quantale-valued fuzzy sets, is established under the guidance of enriched category theory.
