Closure Operators in Fuzzy Set Theory

1999
In accordance with Tarski point of view, in this chapter the theory of closure operators is proposed as a unifying tool for fuzzy logics. Indeed, let F be the set of formulas of a given language. Then an abstract fuzzy logic is defined by a fuzzy semantics (i.e. a class of valuations of the formulas in F) and by a closure operator in the lattice of the

Operations on Fuzzy Sets

2020
In this chapter, we discuss set operations on fuzzy sets by beginning with early fuzzy set operations and continuing with their generalization, interpretations, formal requirements and realizations. We emphasize that complement and negations, triangular norms and triangular co-norms are unifying, general realizations of the set-theoretic operations ...

Fuzzy Set-Theoretic Operations

2013
As we have seen in the previous section, we can identify the operations between fuzzy sets by the corresponding operations on the unit interval, fuzzy set operations being defined point-wise. This implies that we can study operations between fuzzy sets by the corresponding operations over the real unit interval.

Morphological operations on fuzzy sets

Fifth International Conference on Image Processing and its Applications, 1995
One can analyse the structure of a binary image by looking at patterns of a certain shape at different places on the image. This idea of describing the image by looking at similar patterns at various locations is quantified in mathematical morphology by the concept of a structuring element.

Knowledge discovery and semantic learning in the framework of axiomatic fuzzy set theory

WIREs Data Mining Knowl. Discov., 2018
Axiomatic fuzzy set (AFS) theory facilitates a way on how to transform data into fuzzy sets (membership functions) and implement their fuzzy logic operations, which provides a flexible and powerful tool for representing human knowledge and emulate human ...

Powerset operators of extensional fuzzy sets

2018
Summary: Powerset structures of extensional fuzzy sets in sets with similarity relations are investigated. It is proved that extensional fuzzy sets have powerset structures which are powerset theories in the category of sets with similarity relations, and some of these powerset theories are defined also by algebraic theories (monads).

Operation method in fuzzy set operation processor

[1991 Proceedings] IEEE International Conference on Computer Design: VLSI in Computers and Processors, 2002
A VLSI for diverse fuzzy set operations (FSP: fuzzy set processor) uses a single instruction multiple data stream (SIMD) architecture that is composed of four basic operation units and a variable microprogram control circuit. Speed increases of 50 times over a RISC-type CPU are possible when executing fuzzy set operations using a 16 basic operation ...
