Interval fuzzy set and its operation

Proceedings of 2011 IEEE International Conference on Grey Systems and Intelligent Services, 2011
The concept of interval fuzzy sets is proposed in this paper, and its operation system is constructed. Moreover, the paper also designs the first and second standard forms of interval fuzzy sets. Finally, the conversion rules between common and standard form are presented.

Algebraic Operations on Fuzzy Valued Fuzzy Sets

2013
In this chapter, new analytical formulae for membership functions of extended t-norms are derived. We consider the following cases: extended minimum, minimum-based extensions of continuous t-norms, extended continuous t-norms based on drastic-product, and extended Łukasiewicz t-norm based on continuous Archimedean t-norms. As a dual concept to extended

Operations on fuzzy sets—an axiomatic approach

Information Sciences, 1982
Abstract We introduce intersection and union of fuzzy sets, constructed by means of operations on the unit interval which may depend on the considered element of the universe of discourse. A similar approach for complementation was given by Lowen [7]. The main result is that element-dependent operations are not compatible with the preservation of the

Revisiting fuzzy set operations: A rational approach for designing set operators for type-2 fuzzy sets and type-2 like fuzzy sets

Expert Systems with Applications, 2018
Abstract Created by Zadeh in 1965, Fuzzy Set Theory (FST) has been continuously developed in the past five decades and has established itself one of the preeminent approximate reasoning methodologies. In the literature, there exists multitudes of differing approaches for specifying FST's foundational building blocks (such as the various versions of ...

Fuzzy rough sets determined by fuzzy implication operators

2009 IEEE International Conference on Granular Computing, 2009
In this paper, determined by a fuzzy implication operator, a general type of dual pair of lower and upper fuzzy rough approximation operators induced by a fuzzy approximation space is first introduced. Properties of the approximation operators are then examined.

Fuzzy Sets and Their Operations

2000
For a long time it has been recognized that an exact description of many real life physical situations may be virtually impossible. This is due to the high degree of imprecision involved in real world situations. Zadeh, in his seminal papers [Zadeh, 1965; and 1968], proposed fuzzy set theory as the means for quantifying the inherent fuzziness that is ...
