Ferroelectricity in Single‐Crystalline BaTiO3 Nanodisks on Silicon

Ferroelectricity is studied in 20 nm thick single crystalline BaTiO3 nanodisks when scaling their diameter from ≈ 400 down to 100 nm. For 100 nm diameter, the vertical polarization component adopts three distinct patterns, and the lateral one shows a rotational invariance in‐plane, suggesting a combination of center‐type and flux‐closure domains.

A note on fuzzy sets

Fuzzy sets are defined as mappings from sets into Boolean lattices. The basic set theory type results for Zadeh's fuzzy sets are shown to carry over. Some results on convex fuzzy sets, star-shaped fuzzy sets, and arcwise connected fuzzy sets are given. Fuzzy sets with “holes,” bounded fuzzy sets, and connected fuzzy sets are also discussed.

Tunable Synthetic Hydrogel Modulates Hepatic Lineage Specification of Human Liver Organoid

In this study, a synthetic hydrogel is reported that supports the formation of hiPSC‐derived human liver organoids (HLOs). Hepatic lineage specification can be modulated via conjugation of RGD peptide to hydrogel: RGD‐conjugated hydrogels promote cholangiocyte differentiation, whereas RGD‐free hydrogels favor hepatocyte commitment of HLO cells.
