Fuzzy pharmacology: theory and applications
Trends in Pharmacological Sciences, 2002Fuzzy pharmacology is a term coined to represent the application of fuzzy logic and fuzzy set theory to pharmacological problems. Fuzzy logic is the science of reasoning, thinking and inference that recognizes and uses the real world phenomenon that everything is a matter of degree.

Joint Consistency of Fuzzy Theories
MLQ, 2002For Łukasiewicz fuzzy logic, i.e. for infinite-valued Łukasiewicz logic with graded entailment, the author discusses and proves suitable generalizations of the Craig Interpolation Theorem and of the Craig-Robinson Joint Consistency Theorem, and develops the necessary model-theoretic tools he needs for the proofs.

On a fuzzy theory of grammar system
2011 Eighth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD), 2011The contribution sketches some ways of how to introduce uncertainty into grammar systems - a syntactic grammar theoretical framework for dealing with decentralized cooperating information processing systems - using the basic concepts of fuzzy set theory.

On a class of Fuzzy Set Theories
2007 IEEE International Fuzzy Systems Conference, 2007This paper studies the main properties of a broad class of Fuzzy Set Theories that we call Minimal Fuzzy Set Theories. We investigate the fulfillment of well-known properties, such as idempotency or the existence of absorbent elements. The paper shows, in particular, that these theories do always verify the Kleene's law, as well as the Non ...

Ontological grounding of fuzzy theory
2004 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37542), 2005A schema for the investigation of the philosophical grounding of fuzzy theory is proposed. In particular, the ontological grounding is investigated. It is shown that certain equivalences that exist in classical theory break down in fuzzy theory. In turn, this leads to the generation of new formulas and the laws of conservation fuzzy theory.

Graded properties are a natural tool in connection with graded membership or truth degrees. The author considers here the basic notions and ideas of filter theory and generalizes them, in a natural way, using the formal background of fuzzy class theory as conceived by \textit{L. Běhounek} and \textit{P. Cintula} [Fuzzy Sets Syst.

Fuzzy Relations and Fuzzy Functions in Partial Fuzzy Set Theory
2017In this paper, we will study partially-defined fuzzy relations i.e., fuzzy relations with membership functions that are not necessarily defined everywhere. We will handle them in a suitable framework that is a partial fuzzy set theory. It provides tools for dealing with undefined values of the membership by means of special operations based on the ...
