Speciation and repeated origins of hypertrophied lips in parallel adaptive radiations of cyprinid fish from East Africa. [PDF]
Speciation continuum was revealed within repeated de‐novo origins of lipped mouth in African cyprinids. Diet, stable isotopes and genomics showed step‐by‐step moving from non‐functional polymorphism via ecologically functional polymorphism (trophic resource partitioning) to ecological speciation when genomic divergence occurred.
