The Effects of Enzyme Pretreatment Extraction on Lipid Recovery With Normal Phase HPLC

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT With the increasing interest in the commercialization of microalgal fermentation‐based products, sustainable and efficient oil extraction methods have been developed for manufacturing and analytical testing. Due to the variability and resilience of micro‐algae cell walls, traditional lipid extraction methods such as Folch and Bligh and Dyer ...

Statistical shape modeling of the human inner ear through micro‐computed tomography imaging

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
In this study, 54 cadaveric temporal bone specimens underwent high‐resolution micro‐CT imaging. Images were semi‐automatically segmented and converted to 3D surface mesh models for morphological measurement and analysis. Statistical shape models were created for the inner ear, cochlea, and vestibular system, as well as for sex‐ and side‐based subgroups.

Contributions du Génie Frigorifique et du Génie des Procédés pour un meilleur environnement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
In order to reach a better environment, two groups of methods can be considered: substituting polluting by clean (or at least with a lower impact) operations or developing pollution treatment solutions.

An ontological morphological phylogenetic framework for living and extinct ray‐finned fishes (Actinopterygii)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The ray‐finned fishes include one out of every two species of living vertebrates on Earth and have an abundant fossil record stretching 380 million years into the past. The division of systematic knowledge of ray‐finned fishes between paleontologists working on extinct animals and neontologists studying extant species has obscured the ...

Génie électrique et génie informatique Auditory System for a Mobile Robot Thèse de doctorat [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The auditory system of living creatures provides useful information about the world, such as the location of sound sources. For humans, it means to be able to focus one’s attention on events, such as a phone ringing, a vehicle honking, a person taking ...

Re‐evaluation of a soft crested Edmontosaurin, with implications for hadrosaurid life appearance and diversity

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Hadrosaurid dinosaurs are generally regarded as “crested” or “non‐crested” depending on the presence or absence of a bony cranial crest. At least one supposedly “non‐crested” hadrosaur is known to have possessed a soft tissue cranial crest (or comb), based on an exceptionally preserved “mummified” specimen. Here we redescribe this specimen and
