Mechanisms of Projected Changes in Thunderstorm Downburst Environments Across the United States

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 1, 16 January 2026.
Abstract Responses of downdraft convective available potential energy (DCAPE) to global warming were investigated using the Community Earth System Model (CESM2) under a high‐emission scenario through the year 2100. DCAPE is projected to increase by 5%–12% on average in most areas, independently of wind shear.

Cosimo’s Genius and Ammannati’s Ingenium: The Wax Model for the Genio Mediceo

open access: yesThe Rijksmuseum Bulletin, 2020
In 2018 the Rijksmuseum acquired the wax modello for the Genio Mediceo (‘Genius of the Medici’), a bronze fountain statue that was made around 1557 in Florence by Bartolomeo Ammannati for the Duke of Tuscany, Cosimo I de’ Medici.

Climatology of Cloud‐Land‐Surface Coupling Across Different ARM Sites

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 1, 16 January 2026.
Abstract Land‐atmosphere interactions play a critical role in the evolution and formation of low‐level clouds. The different states of coupling between low‐level clouds and the surface are uncertain, primarily over continental regions, where complex thermodynamics complicates their investigation.

MMP2‐Responsive Liposomes Targeting LDLR Enhance the Effectiveness of Anti‐Cancer Drugs in Treating Melanoma

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, Volume 9, Issue 1, January 2026.
A bi‐functional liposomal system is developed to enhance melanoma therapy, combining mApoE‐mediated targeting of LDLR‐expressing tumor cells with MMP2‐responsive drug release. Loaded with Pimasertib, the liposomes improve intracellular delivery, reduce melanoma viability, and inhibit 3D spheroid growth and invasiveness.

Aerosol Chemical Characterization and Seasonal Variability at the Helmos Hellenic Atmospheric Aerosol and Climate Change Mountain Station

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 130, Issue 24, 28 December 2025.
Abstract Observations of PM1 nonrefractory species (NRS) were performed for a 12 month period at the high‐altitude Helmos Hellenic Atmospheric Aerosol and Climate Change ((HAC)2) station at 2,314 m a.s.l. using real‐time online mass spectrometry. Aerosol‐cloud interactions were studied as well as influence from the planetary boundary layer (PBL) and ...

Transitions Toward a Midheavy State of Tropical Convection

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 130, Issue 23, 16 December 2025.
Abstract This study analyzes the thermodynamic effects of atmospheric vertical motion recorded in satellite observations to investigate the processes behind the evolution of tropical convection. These processes, difficult to observe directly, are diagnosed from satellite retrievals of precipitation (P) and atmospheric cloud radiative effect (ACRE) with
